This book just like the others in the series is just a joy to read! They are well written. The storyline is fast paced and action filled! The characters are so well developed, complex, yet very likeable. This is a series that is worth investing your time and money into. The audio narration is also very well done!
This is book three in one of the best shifter series I have listened to. I found this author for the first time with the first book in this series and I am now hooked! I don't know how I managed to miss Gayle Parness' work for so long.
This book takes up where book two "Stalked" left off and we find our heroine seventeen-year-old Jackie, a magically gifted cheetah shapeshifter in the hands of the evil fae lord, Kennet. She willingly surrendered herself to him to obtain the release of her newly found sister Bridget.
Whilst in the hands of Kennet Jackie learns more about her heritage, in addition to being a cheetah she also has demon blood. This information comes to her from a demon Kennet has compelled to 'guard' Jackie. But in an attempt to escape his obligation to Kennet the demon and Jackie forge an agreement, he will teach her how to use her demon magic so that she may escape from Kennet and return home to Garrett her lifemate and in return she will free him from Kennet and enable him to extract his revenge on him.
When Jackie does finally escape from Kennet she is changed and will need all the love and understanding of Garret and all her friends. Her escape was not without cost to others as well as herself and Jackie's powers are really put to the test. With each book in this series, I find myself liking Garret more and more - what a lovely mate he is to Jackie
We learn more about Bridget and the vampires in Garret's nest as well as some rouge wolves and a vampire who thinks he can take over Garret's area and fortune. As well as hearing more about the members of Rouge Shifters.
This book has some very dark elements but it also has some very happy ones, it is very well written and so worth listening to. The descriptive writing of Gayle Parness and the narration by Reba Buhr made this book so engrossing that I found myself totally immersed in the story and resenting having to stop listening. I would love to tell you more about the story but to do so would mean giving spoilers, which I never do, and so you will have to take my word for it that this book, indeed this series, is one of the best of this genre I have read or listened to in quite a while.
I was given a copy of this book as a gift and am voluntaily writing my review
