Publisher's summary

Ya' lives by the sun, ya' dies by the sun.

Life is always at a turning point...

when faced with a certain death...

would you be willing to seize the moment...

and do what it takes to survive?

Know this. You'll never know where the bend in the road might take you.

The new dystopian, post-apocalyptic fiction series from author Bobby Akart (The Boston Brahmin series and the Prepping for Tomorrow series) has been hailed as a masterpiece of prepper fiction. Prepare to learn, as well as be entertained as The Blackout Series continues with Turning Point.

In book one of this new post-apocalyptic survival fiction series, 36 Hours, the listener was provided a glimpse into the rapid decline of society once word of the catastrophic solar flare racing towards Earth began to spread.

Book two, Zero Hour, thrust our character into the perils of a post-apocalyptic world. At Zero Hour, an EMP caused by a massive solar flare left America in darkness. The Ryman family, who weren't preppers, applied common sense, logic, and a will to survive to their decision-making as they faced their death, their neighbors, and the depravity of man.

Now, in Turning Point, the characters face a life altering decision - should we stay or should we go? The oldest and strongest emotion in man is fear, and the strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown. Will Americans flee the urban centers, the proverbial golden hordes, for the countryside? Will it be safer than the cities? Turning Point will lead the Ryman family into a complex, inexplicable world where danger lurks around every bend.

Note: This book does not contain strong language. It is intended to entertain and inform audiences of all ages, including teen and young adults.

Bug in, or bug out?

The Roman family have to make the decision that all prepper and fans of The Clash ponder.... Should I stay or should I go? A great ride as the Roman's discover what travelling in a post-apocalyptic world could be like. They meet other travelers, good and bad, but will they make it to Shiro Ranch? Another enjoyable listen.

excellent portrayal of characters

Excellent story line and mixture of settings keeping your interest. Some of the dialogue is stiff, too formal, but only periodic.

Kept me on the edge of my seat!

Any additional comments?

Turning Point is an engrossing story following the Ryman family as they try to reach safety after an EMP has taken out the grids. What they meet along the way is what I would expect the world to be like at this point. They some how keep their heads and persevere as they travel encountering people who mean to harm them. I absolutely love this series and how Bobby Akart brings realism into the story. Looking forward to the next book in the series to listen to on audible!

Entertaining and instructive

In this third book of the series, we follow the Ryman family’s journey to a friend’s house in a rural area. They learn that while they were not safe at their home, the roads aren’t much safer. The book drew me in quickly and I felt I was there with them throughout the continual challenges the family faced. The author has done such an excellent job building the characters, that by this point, I feel like I know who they are. This is a great series that is not only entertaining, but also warns of potential issues of CMEs and societal collapse. Kevin Pierce adds his own brand of magic with his voice and brings the story to life.

The Sago continues in fantastic fashion!

What did you love best about Turning Point: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Fiction Series?

That it's not the last book in the series!!!

What did you like best about this story?

That it is written in a very realistic sense, that everything that happens could easily happen to anyone in such situation.

What about Kevin Pierce’s performance did you like?

He's just so consistent in his portrayal of characters, not only within this book but in all of his narrations. He makes it sound so effortless, unlike so many that seem to try so hard to portray the characters that they just sound phony.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Alex giving the little boy the comic book. Such a touching moment by a teenager in recognizing the despair of family and doing something so small but so meaningful for him.

Any additional comments?

Really wasn't sure where the Buford Pusser story line was headed early in the book but just knew that it would come together somehow, which it obviously did. Love the way Bobby takes side stories like that and brings them into the fold of the main story! Another home run book by Mr Akart!!

Want More!

Where does Turning Point: A Post-Apocalyptic EMP Survival Fiction Series rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I really liked this series. Liked book 3 the best. Couldn't wait to see what happened next!

What did you like best about this story?

The realistic banter and the story. Made me wonder how long I would last in this world. Not very long I'm afraid.

Which scene was your favorite?

The Savannah situation.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. I wish they were longer books. I understand the author dividing them into three books. BUT this would have made one great book.

Any additional comments?

Keep them coming and make them at least ten hours.
