WOW!

I am typically not a fan of books like the Grimoire Sagas. I decided to do the audio books to help me read them. I am so very happy with my decision! Listening to Kara Kovacich Stewart read these novels is such a delight! Kara has a way of bringing the characters to life and the different voices Kara uses is fabulous! I cannot wait to hear the next book!

what a whirlwind of a story

Any additional comments?

Book 2 is quite entertaining. It's full of action, and there's continually new things to learn about Ourea.

It was great to get to know Stone, Cedric, and Deidre better. They are really great, complex characters that helped me to stay engaged in the story.

In this installment, however, there were quite a few times where I felt the alternate world/fantasy elements were abused a little bit. Does this character need a mount? Oh! Lets add a new species we haven't talked about yet and have it appear magically at just the right moment!! I don't think I minded as much in book 1, because we were still getting to know the world... but every time something like this happened (which did feel pretty frequent) I cared just a little less about the book.

The other thing that irked me a bit was that there were some pretty simple could-be solutions to some of the problems presented and there wasn't any explanation given as to why it couldn't happen like that. It made some of the main characters feel dumb to me.

I really enjoyed the narration. Whenever I read a first book and then listen to a second, I'm either thrilled with how much the narration adds to the story or disappointed that it adds almost nothing. In this instance, it was quite the former. There were a variety of accents for the many characters and their personalities really were brought to life in this installment. She did a much better job than my imagination did the first time around!!!

Who can you trust?

If you could sum up Treason in three words, what would they be?

Entertaining, surprising, engaging

What did you like best about this story?

The development of the characters

What about Kara Kovacich Stewart’s performance did you like?

Everything! Listening to this book with very long chapters made it more entertaining than reading it myself. Kara's voices, which were different for each character, really added to my enjoyment of the book. Awesome performance!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No...way too long with too much action to listen to all at once

Simply excellent

Treason: (Book Two of the Grimoire Saga), amazing fantasy world! Well written with well-developed characters, Boyce takes the time to develop her fantasy world in a manner that makes you want to read the next book. This, the second book in the series, continues seamlessly from the first. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

Treason

Treason a beautiful story. With a lot of contradictions. At first Gavin want to kill kara but have regrets and help her. Both Breaden and Kara be held prisoned. And got free. Stone helps her and finds out what her story eh past is. Breaden tries to kill her. And in the end Ashlynn get killed. Beautiful narrated by Kara kovacich stewart

Even Better than the first book

Kara and Braedan must face truths both won't like, the Vagabond and Grimoire will help with what they can but each must find their own way and the truth within themselves. They might find that to survive they must become the part of themselves they least want to be .

I wasn't sure how the last book could be topped , but this one picked up right where the last one left off and the action and suspense didn't waver. I went with the audiobook version narrated by Kara Kavocich Stewart who just brings Ourea and all of it's people to life. I am so thankful for awesome narrators like her for many different reasons but mostly for bringing great books to life for me on days I am not able to read. Her talent makes those days much more tolerable

Quite an adventure

What made the experience of listening to Treason the most enjoyable?

The story was quite an adventure. You never knew who you could trust and who would stab you in the back, definitely kept you guessing. The narrator had such a smooth and expressive voice. How she made all the different voices distinctive, was quite expressive.

What other book might you compare Treason to and why?

I would compare the Grimoire Saga with the Harry Potter series. So many different creatures and magic, with a young one being trained in all their power. With an evil force after him.

Any additional comments?

This was an excellent series, with so many twists and turns that kept you guessing until the end. The surprises were unending. With a great narrator and amazing story was really enjoyable to experience.
