Publisher's Summary

An ocean of darkness lives in the journal of Philip Pinkerton. Ancient things with no place in our world are rising from the abyss. Ezekiel, the arrogant, mad god has called us into battle. Does he think we can't touch him, or does he know we can't? I wish I knew. The world's only hope lies in a forgotten weapon, the strength of our allies, and one necromancer of questionable ancestry. Yeah, this is going to end well.

Vesik evolves

Any additional comments?

Really enjoyed this book. I'm a big fan of the series and This Broken World was a perfect fit. The storyline and characters are evolving as our hero and his destiny become more complicated. What really stands out to me is how the author writes good comedic lines and the narrator delivers spot on, all without interfering with the more series aspects of the story. Narrator couldn't be more perfect for the main character.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this series!

Would you consider the audio edition of This Broken World to be better than the print version?

I never read the print version, but this is an entertaining audiobook.

What other book might you compare This Broken World to and why?

I would call this very similar to the Dresden Files by Jim Butcher. Both in humor and tone, if you like Dresden, you'll love Vesik.

What does William Dufris bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

William Dufris has proven to be a great narrator. He really makes many of the characters come alive. I can practically see Zola when he speaks for her. I will definitely look for more books he has narrated.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

This book definitely made me laugh out loud many times.

Any additional comments?

Great book and a great narrator. Anymore, I stick to longer books, preferably boxed sets or omnibus editions, to get the best bang for my buck. I enjoyed the Vesik 1-3 set so much I bought 3 extra credits so I could get to this one.
