Publisher's summary

Dante and Blays have forced Gladdic from the Collen Basin. But the victory might be only the first battle in a much larger war. With the land on the brink of starvation and politically fractured, Dante and Blays scramble to secure Collen's food, borders, and allies. Before their work is done, rumor arrives from Mallon. The enemy is mustering for another attack.

Even if Collen can weather the coming storm, there's no guarantee their independence will last out the year. During a border raid, Dante learns Gladdic has fled to the shadowy realm of Tanar Atain, home of the Andrac.

And the secrets Gladdic returns with could tip the balance of power forever.

Loved it!

Dante and Blaze are maturing. As they do the troubles they face, questions they ask themselves, and the cultures they run across, cause me to ponder the world, society, my own decisions and thoughts of how things are (or ought to be). Exactly the sort of things I want mixed in with a wonderful tale of adventure, magic, and good vs evil.

loved every word!

A fantastic story performed by a remarkable narrator. I always find my self within an extra 5 minutes either before I go into work out before I walk into my house wanting to Kirsten fit just a little longer.

Another great entry!

I can't get enough of Dante and Blays, but I find myself starting to get uneasy at the repetitiveness of the overarching storyline. It is one mishap after another where Dante and Blays travel to a new area and find some way to get used by locals in order to achieve their goals.

Also, I find myself wanting more discovery (or more like re-discovery) of using the Ether and Nether however this only seems to come around when Dante is destroying things. It would be nice to develop Dante's character as something more than a sorcery with the ability to kill and destroy. Blays toys with more character depth when acting as the moral compass for Dante but that lasts only as long as he doesn't find some reason to want to stick his sword in something.

It is for those reasons that I truly enjoyed the parallel storylines that took place in the last two books of this cycle because new characters are getting to add depth and subtle nuances to the magic system and the story overall. Don't want to give away anything so I will leave it right there.

All in all this is storyline one of my favorites, and Dante and Blays are a great character duo who can't seem to keep their noses out of ALL the trouble... and that keeps me coming back for more every time!

Way to scare me Tim!

If you could sum up The Wound of the World in three words, what would they be?

Has a cliffhanger.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Wound of the World?

I'm not going to issue a spoiler, that would just be wrong.

Which character – as performed by Tim Gerard Reynolds – was your favorite?

Is there really any way to choose? He even has a way of making some that were favorites into least favorites, and some that were despicable into human.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes

Any additional comments?

Tim Reynolds scared me at first, he started off with different voices than his previous installments, but within 10 minutes had them back as they should be.

I'm addicted. From the narrating to the characters story ....it's refreshingly different! hard to find that in fiction these days

Love the series

Tim makes these books awesome. I am always waiting for the next one to come. There are always a few things that bring a new wrinkle each book. This one was no exception. The only thing that sucks is the cliffhanger and the wait.

Keep up the good work!

Very entertaining!

This was truly a performance not just a reading. Not only were the characters and the story exciting but they made me laugh at times. I highly recommend this book and all the others in the series. Can't wait for book 4 (I hate waiting!).
