Publisher's Summary

My name is Viktor Engel Warden, and I'm here to tell you that there's more to this world than you might suspect.
There are things that slither and pass unseen through the night, and it's my job to stop them. But sometimes that's easier said than done. Twenty years ago, I ended a nightmare that would've brought the world to its knees. I thought it was over...but I was wrong.
The Cult of Fenrir has returned, and they're stronger than ever. Now I'm in a race to find the survivors of that day so I can stop them again. Permanently. If I get things wrong...which I won't...but if I might just bring about the apocalypse. But, hey, no pain, no gain, and all that BS. Right? Yeah, I'm not buying it either.

Awaken to a fantastic story

Would you try another book from Ken Lange and/or Marlin May?

Yes, I would try other books from both. I enjoyed the print version more than the audio version because the narrator was a little stiff. He still did fine, but his performance lacked the edge of sarcasm that I expected to hear from Viktor.

What other book might you compare The Wanderer Awakens to and why?

James A. Hunter's Yancy Lazarus is a book I could loosely compare. The characters are similar with their sarcasm and snark.

Would you be willing to try another one of Marlin May’s performances?

I would like to try another book, though I would like to see the performer loosen up and really embrace the character's attitude.

Any additional comments?

It was story to get lost in because the protagonist is exactly the kind of character I love to read. Viktor is snarky and savvy with a vow to protect human kind without them even knowing. I like the fact that the protagonist is not a young 24 year old that thinks he knows everything. Viktor, though quite the super hero, portrayed himself more like a man off the street in this fantasy story. The secondary characters were engaging while not complex, they really didn't need to be.

Science fiction meets mythos and legend.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story. The characters are well-developed and the fast miving storyline keeps you listening/reading. Can't wait for the next in the series.
