A fun kid superhero book

Squirrel Girl is essentially a joke character, but been getting attention thanks to Ryan North fun writing and its soul sucking art that only work due to how fun he makes the book. If you love that comic, you will enjoy this. As it has good amount of clever jokes and capture the optomistic energy of squirrel girl.

If you never read any of her stuff, this is a good starting point as it is basically a origin story and how she becomes Squirrel Girl. Capturing the spirit of a kid trying to be a superhero versus a villain that is basically a counterpart but also have the same goofy unintentional humor.

I say the only real big conplaint is that it is a kid book, so it is a bit predictable. Plus there was one tiresome long joke that might work when you actually reading the book, but fails when translated to an audio medium.

But overall it was a really fun listen with the narrarator doing a fantastic job.

Great light and fun read for marvel fans

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl is fun and light-hearted origin story for Squirrel Girl. The story is not complex but it is entertaining. The characters are likable and the narrator does a good job of giving different voices to different characters. A recommended listen for anyone who likes super hero stories, a fun and not deep story.

A must read or listen to audio

I recommend this book to any Marvel fan . This book is written really well and had lots of funny moments. Shows you the world of Doreen Green and her adventures of how she became Squirrel Girl.

Great book!

This is a terrific audio book. Great performance by the narrator. Very entertaining story, very funny and very consistent with the current comic by Ryan North and Erica Henderson (which is one of the best comics being published today).

Captivating performance

If you could sum up The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl in three words, what would they be?

Engaging Squirrel Heroics

Which character – as performed by Abigail Revasch and Tara Sands – was your favorite?

My favorite character performed was Doreen Green.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Chitter around town

Any additional comments?

The story was a great story. I played it for my 8 year old and my 12 year old. The 12 year old was not very interested in the story, but he paid attention to the words. My 8 year old was engaged in the first third of the book, then it slowed down a bit for her, but picked up with the resolutions at the end.

Couldn’t ask for better narration! ❤️

Highly enjoyable, even if predictable at times. That’s not a bad thing, if you’re looking to smile. I loved it. Can’t wait for the next book coming in March 2018.

Disappointingly predictable, and a tad too goofy

Disappointingly predictable, and a tad too goofy. I get that the premise is goofy, but the rest of the story didn't have to follow suit on the simplest path.
