Publisher's summary

Twenty-eight years ago, we lost contact with an ill-fated settlement mission to the outer solar system. This mission was to Uranus II...also called Umbriel. Here, on the frozen blue moon circling that distant upside-down world, 58 of our bravest explorers vanished.

What became of those doomed settlers after their final transmission? Why did they abandon the surface and seek refuge underground? If conditions there were poor, why had they not boarded their ship and returned? And what of the strange, unnatural things they reportedly encountered beneath the surface of dreary Umbriel?

In this, the last record of the captain of that cursed expedition, the story of these unfortunate settlers unfurls.

Will you answer the call to journey beneath Umbriel?

not the best

it's a short story that feels incomplete. the beginning was actually kinda interesting, but it goes down hill fast and then it ends.
