Great Premise for new series

This book plants the hook for the series very well. The only issue is it really bogs down in the middle. Great beginning and exciting ending. Even the narrator sounds bored through the middle chapters and with good reason. He does speak very clearly and adds much, but he can't carry the overly drawn out middle chapters. Book needed to be a couple of hours shorter. It is like an 8 hour book dragged out to 10 for no good reason.
