Publisher's summary

Years have passed since the end of the War of the Lance. The people of Ansalon have rebuilt their lives, their houses, their families. The Companions of the Lance, too, have returned to their homes, raising children and putting the days of their heroic deeds behind them.

But peace on Krynn comes at a price. The forces of darkness are ever vigilant, searching for ways to erode the balance of power and take control. When subtle changes begin to permeate the fragile peace, new lives are drawn into the web of fate woven around all the races. The time has come to pass the sword - or the staff - to the children of the Lance.

They are the Second Generation.

An all-new audiobook edition of a classic Dragonlance novel.

This book of five novellas bridges the gap between the Chronicles and Legends trilogies and Dragons of Summer Flame. While detailing their adventures, The Second Generation also sets up key events and characters in future Dragonlance novels.

Great story

Narrator was good, though a little too dramatic at times. Second best narrator so far.

Great story, doesn't disappoint.

Great story of coarse. Narration is good. Some letters are pronounced a little too hard for my taste, but I am just being nit picky.

I’m now intertwined with new characters from beloved tale of Dragonlance

How could the story go on after the War of the Lance, the Time of the Twins? Apparently there is more in the wonderful but dark world of Krinn. Let’s see where these new tales take us!

Great story. Good narration for the most part

The stories, of course, are great. The narration was very good for the most part, with the exception of Caramon. it seems like every book has one character that has been severely butchered. It seems like the narrator was so concerned with getting her voice low enough for the big warrior that she lost the ability to give anything but a mono tone voice that spoke out of the side of her mouth through clenched teeth. Anyone who knows Caramon's character knows that, while he is a mountain of a man, he is as much jovial, caring and thoughtful. There is a lot of character in his dialog. Unfoetunately, his characterization was very sterile. I wish, in these cases, the narrator would just read the dialog without trying to sound like the character. Having a woman try to sound like an enormous warrior just isn't going to happen. just don't try. other than that, she did a good job.

Good story

Where does The Second Generation rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

I would give it an 8 out of 10.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Second Generation?

When Steel was brought be fore the Tomb of his father.

Which character – as performed by Gabra Zackman – was your favorite?

Steel Brightblade I feel she did very well with.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

yes

Any additional comments?

I would have given 5 stars all around but it still bothers me that they switched narrators for this series again. the original (Paul Boehmer) was just so good that the other two narrators paled in comparison.
