Rough Start But a Solid Series.

I gave the omnibus 4 stars primarily because I don't want to scare potential listeners away from these books. I wasn't sure about the quality of them as I got through the first book. The dialogue was overly dramatic and it took away from the relatively unique storyline. However, as the books progressed the author went away from the gratuitous drama and I sincerely enjoyed the rest of the books. I'm excited to hear the upcoming books. I definitely recommend this one but I'm giving fair warning that the first book may be tough to get through for hardcore fans of this genre.

Bland and unoriginal

I don't think there are many books out there with more cliches and more unlikeable characters. They had no substance. The dialogue was boring and the story line predictable. I think I strained my eyes with how many times I rolled them while forcing myself to finish this. I mean... one of the characters names is actually Captain Morgan. Really? It's like reading Jr High attempts at fantasy... nothing is genuine. It all feels like a poor attempt at mimicking the greats. If you're looking for a good listen/read pass this one by. You won't find it here.

there were no previous customers reviews... and im sorry but I can see why.. I just couldn't get interested in the characters or the story, the narration was just irritating and put the final nail home.. I havent stopped listening this early into a story in a long long while... hopefully some other readers will give a contradictory review and I will revist it ...
