The story continues with the alien, Evaran, Dr Snowden and his niece, Emily.
Emily is captured and put on an alien planet through a rift so there is no telling where she was
sent alone with strange creatures..
There are several different things going on at once including Dr Snowden and his issues while
Evaran is trying to locate Emily.
Overall this was an entertaining read or listen filled with action, suspense, and adventure.
Michael Pauley, as usual, did well with the narration.

Another fantastic adventure. This is just a great series. Extremely fun and entertaining.
This is the 3rd book in the series not counting the prequel.
Each story is always interesting and creative.
Adventure, time-travel, altered timelines, suspense, action, humor, intrigue and more woven into a great story.
The past has been changed. Evaran, Dr. Snowden and Emily face their latest challenge. Purification.
This series would make a great T.V. show
Michael Pauley once again does a fantastic job with the narration. All the different character voices are great. Clearly spoken. Smooth even pace. He narration makes the characters and story come to life. Really enjoyable to listen to.

Anyone who enjoys Dr. Who will surely love this book. I was fortunate to receive a complementary copy of, The Purification from the rights ho!der, via Audiobook Boom in exchange for an honest review. I was initially at a slight disadvantage in that this is part of an ongoing series of which I had no previous knowledge. So I struggled, at first, to disentangle the who and what was happening. But as the story picked up speed, all became clear as the time travelling companions fought, firstly, to stop the Sentinels from 'purifying' their friends' world of any non humans, then to find and reunite with one of their band, lost to an unknown fate during a battle. A simple story made complex by shifts through dimensions to places imaginatively peopled by exotic and often deadly inhabitants. Lots of action, fighting and a few super powers thrown in to heighten the tension, all vividly described.
The narration, also, reinforces a sense of otherworldliness. Dialogue between the protagonists is clearly differentiated, each with their own distinctive voice and unlike the ongoing text. This latter is read with a slightly strange intonation which gives a mechanical lilt to Michael Pauley's delivery. Another nice touch is the short burst of tinkling music which heralds the end and beginning of every chapter.
Despite my early reservation, The Purification does hold up well as a stand alone novel. However, familiarity with earlier books in the series would probably ease entry into the story and add greater depths of understanding of the characters from the start.
