Stay out of the dark. Load up on silver bullets. And whatever you do, stay alive.
Creatures that once lived in the shadows, hidden from humankind, have risen, spreading like a plague across the globe over the course of a single night. Their numbers growing exponentially through infection, these seemingly unkillable creatures have swallowed up whole cities and collapsed unprepared governments. Survivors call it The Purge. Against all odds, a disparate group of survivors has emerged from that blood-soaked night that devastated the planet and reduced humanity to an endangered species. But surviving The Purge was one thing - staying alive is another matter entirely....

Characters as flat as pita bread.

Man, if I have to hear the phrase "Dead, not stupid" again I'll shoot myself. There were SO MANY repeated phrases in this book, I felt like I was being brainwashed.

The characters in the book are just...not there. I can't feel anything for them at all. Some come, some die, and I found myself forgetting the names and not caring in the slightest.

The premise was cool, but without any real back story to the main character except one guy is straight laced while the other one is the joker, I really don't know why I should care if they get killed.

I didn't care for the narrator either. All the bad guys had exaggerated southern accents and the women all seemed too weepy, except the cocky ones who all seemed too cocky.

And then there were the moments after some terrible thing happened, and the characters were all joking around. There was no reflection or emotion from the characters; just an internal monologue like "She knew she would never forget it." But then, on to the next one liner.

All in all, just didn't do it for me. Give it a try if you like.

Housewives of the vampire apocalypse

Would you try another book from Sam Sisavath and/or Adam Danoff?

Sorry can't do it.

What was most disappointing about Sam Sisavath’s story?

The constant inane conversations about who is cute, who is having sex, how beautiful so and so's hair shines in the sun, should I have sex with so and so?
I tried to skip over these parts but they were too frequent.
**I don't mind sex in what I read, I'm a big GoT fan, this stuff was just not for me.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Adam Danoff?

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

The ghouls were cool, and I enjoyed where the story was headed, I just couldn't stand the character interaction.
