Publisher's summary

In the early 23rd century, one of very few ways to rise above your caste is to become a player in the extreme martial-arts game known as the Musashi Flex. Lazlo Mourn, a battle-scarred veteran, is ready to hang up his blades when his moves suddenly evolve toward a form of fighting unlike any the galaxy has seen.

Journalist Cayne Sola wants the big story on the games, and not even the fiercest warrior will stop her. Billionaire Ellis Mtumbo Shaw has everything except combat fame, but an untested drug puts that within his reach. Their fates will entwine - and be decided - in the bloody arena of the Flex.

Great fun, well worth listening

As much Martial Arts Adventure as Science Fiction, well narated and presented. Light, fast, entertaining, and a great way to spend a few hours.

An enjoyable listen.

A very simple, straight forward and well told story that I found quite enjoyable. It felt more like a short story rather than a full length novel, but that was alright with me. I just wish there were other Steve Perry, Matador Series novels available to sample. The guy has written so many, perhaps audible will acquire more.

The narrator was unknown to me, not that I'm familiar with every reader, but he did a great job as well.

Great book in an even better series.

I just wish the other books in the "Man Who Never Missed" series would be released in audio format. one of my favorite series of all time.

Surprise ending!!

Wasn’t ready for the story to end and definitely didn’t expect it to end that way. Good book. Steve Perry does it again.

Slow But Good

The book is really slow getting started but it’s a pretty good listen. I would not have paid for the book but it’s included in my membership so I finished it.

I want the rest of the story!

This book is the prequel to The Man Who Never Missed, the first book in the Matador series first published in 1985. I loved the series and would definitely buy a Audible version.

Old new purpose

30 yrs later and still purposeful, hope they put his older books on audio. Life is awesome and hard, but! Living it thoughtfully is a blessing. The public library has his books and they led me to audible.com🙂

This was cool

A very interesting story. I liked it a lot. The story really carries it, so it is not dependent upon the action sequences.

Excellent we need more from this series.

This is an excellent sci-fi wushu space opera. I've often thought a live action would not do it Justice. Terry you should consider having this made into an anime style series.
