Publisher's summary

Emma has come far since being the artificial intelligence housed in an underground laboratory. A full city is now at her command and with that strength comes the need to maintain it. Resources are in short supply and the threats out there in the world are bigger and more dangerous than ever. It is time for some upgrades.

A fun book and I'm ready for more

This series is fun I love how the AI has changed over the course of this story.

done it again

short sweet engrossing. skylar grant manages to dive into a new world and make it worthwhile. though somehow manages to tell an epic tale in minutes while others need hours or days.

Almost 4 stars, but some glaring problems

The book is largely improved from the rest. The RPG elements have been completely abandoned other than token mentions. Which is better than the way it was just under implemented before.

The book also has a few of unexpected and odd references. Which leaves me confused.

But what really holds the book back and a lot. Is the way the book handles the main challenge. The enemy time powers. In that the writer basically wrote himself into a corner with these overpowered dudes and proceded to just ignore them.

Basically bad guys can reverse time for 15 minutes at will, happens automatically if they die and it seems to habe unlimited uses. So to die they have to be put into a situation where going back in time for 15 minutes doesnt save them and then accept death.

Not a single one of the time guys died in a way that I found satisfactory except perhaps the one who was tortured until he agreed to stay dead.

As it is possible she engaged him then waited 15 minutes before torturing him. So that way when he went back in time he was already under her power.

Seems like a strategy easily beat by enemies just making sure they dont engage for longer than 14 minutes at a stretch before going back in time, but I digress.

Every other time, going back 15 minutes in time would put them to a period before engagement. Letting them flee and try again. Even the first kill was specified it was taking 16 minutes for the shuttle to be primed to blow. So thats 14 minutes to set the shuttle down and try something else.

The thing is, any kind of limitation on the power would have fixed things. A cool down for instance. But the author wrote them overpowered and just didnt have them defeated properly. And that to me is an unforgivable failure.

worst book so far

terrible.rushed. run together. this book is a money grab. The first book was interesting but it goes down hill. either the performwr cannot read in anything but monotone or the story truely is terrible. I couldn't stand listening past the first few chapters. i wish i could get my money back
