Publisher's summary

Mahan's ready for new adventures - just as the gaming world of Barliona thought it was about to reenter its old comfortable rut. The winds of the Dark Forest have finally died down; Altameda has recognized its new owner while Geranika is nursing new schemes of global destruction.

Would Mahan be happy with this predictable old life? We think not! New storylines, new monsters, new dungeons, and a new status: Our High Shaman hates the daily grind! He wants a new apprentice? Then he'd better find someone who has no right to summon Spirits. A new ship? It's going to be one of a kind! A new love? Well, we'll have to see, won't we?

What the hell was that ending?

I really hope there are more books planned or I am never reading anything by this author again.

Wha.....?

I feel crushed absolutely crushed. I feel so bad for Mayan, plz continue the series, let him get at least a little revenge for being so absolutely destroyed. I beg you.

Though at least in retrospect he is freed😁, but still it seems he was set up at the beginning and that hasn't been fully explained. So explain, plz.

Another great litrpg!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would certainly recommend this book and the whole series to my friends. It's the type of game we'd love to jump into and its incredibly well written and performed.

What did you like best about this story?

How immersed I got and just never wanting the story to end. Except at the end Mr. Mahanenko broke me down on a molecular level. Listening to the book at work had me a clutching my chest with a heavy heart.

What about Jonathan Yen’s performance did you like?

Everything, I love how he brings his characters to life and just his pacing with the story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I desperately wanted to. I blew through the entire series in about 3-4 days of work. I've re-listened to the whole series twice so far just dying to get my ears on the next book.

still the best narrator!

SHOUT OUT TO JONATHAN YEN!! I've heard some pretty great narrators in the past, but JONATHAN really brings these books to life in such a uniquely captivating way. I feel connected to the main characters here in the depiction of their voices which bring subtle depth to their personalities that i just so rarely find in an audiobook. I truly hope that he continues to become the voice of many fiction works to come.

the combination of voice over and story line make these books clamor for the top spot as my new favorites in my audio library of nearly 200 books

To the Author,
Thank you for such a wonderful world and involving experience of a unique telling of the litRPG genre. A fulfilling read! You've not let me down yet, WOTS has the making of a truly legendary series IMO.

BEST WISHES!

Emotional Rollercoaster

My hell. I haven't been this invested in a character since the first time I read Ender's Game. My connection with Mahan is so deep I nearly wanted to shoot myself to avoid the possibility of a new book! I can't take it any more! The narrator drags you in with its vivid storytelling, the writing paints a picture so detailed that I can't imagine life outside of my prison capsule, and the emotion portrayed in both have wrung my soul dry. Ugh. I need to take a vacation from Vasily Mahanenko. Well done sir. Well done.

What a freaking gut punch...

If you got this far, this book makes it all worth your time. This is the best book in the series, so far.
