Good story, poor narrator

Different narrator than the first two books. Character voices and the pronunciation of proper names was inferior to the original guy. I stuck with it because I wanted to find out how the trilogy ended.

This was an enjoyable conclusion to the story, but it still left you hanging.

Story's ok. Narrator is dreary replacement.

The first two books in this series are great, but if you made it this far, you may already agree with that sentiment. I made it about twenty minutes through this book before I couldn't go a step further; which is a shame, because this book was good so far. Still, I'll pick it back up on paperback.
The narrator is absolutely boring to listen to, and is honestly the only reason I couldn't continue this book. There's barely any energy from the him, slight inflections, no nuance whatsoever.

Different narrator?

Wish they could of gotten the same narrator from the first 2 books. He doesn't even pronounce major characters names the same. It was very offputting. Every time he mispronounced Harmattan just grated on my nerves. Did the narrator even listen to the first narrator?

Narration Disappointing

Alex Hyde-White is a hard act to follow. His narration of the first two books of the series, involving a dozen or so voices and accents makes it easy and delightful to follow the story.

By contrast, Brett Barry's reading is adequate but no more. It's also disruptive that Barry did not take the time to investigate prior pronunciation of place names -- the change is disruptive.

Great book and series but...

Narrator was changed from the first two books, which makes it difficult to stay connected - especially when words are pronounced differently than previously. Otherwise a great finish to the series.

Ok but found the dream setting annoying

I found the dream setting annoying. When your setting is in dreams the author can do whatever they want to make the story work but it all feels completely random/inconsequential from a readers perspective.

Wasn’t as bad as folks say

I found the narrator to be fine. It was the somewhat weak ending and all the loose threads that bothered me. However, I made it through three books so it was at least interesting enough to keep going.

Good, but...

Marred by a change in narrator, the story is good, but much is left to be desired in the conclusion. It's a real shame that a second trilogy to tie up the loose ends was never picked up.
