Still entertaining after all these books

I've found very few authors who can keep a series going past book 3 (or 4 at the most) and still keep the story compelling, interesting and creative. Richard Fox is one of those rare birds and book 5 is more proof of that. Part of it has to do with the unique cast of characters he has created, from naive to serious to snarky to untrustworthy to heroic to despicable but all compelling and woven in such a way that they each play a worthy part of the story. He also stages these peoples in ways that their scenes are often only loosely grouped to the others so that it's like a bunch of disconnected mini-story arcs occurring during the telling of the book.

I was saddened when in book 4 one of my favorite characters, Sergeant Torni gave up her life in a selfless act to save her squad but am pleased that she re-surfaces again in book 5 ... sort of.

Excellent writing and Luke Daniels is an excellent narrator.

Gardens of Dejavu

Of all the books thus far, this one was the least enjoyable. I couldnt shake the feeling that I had heard the story before. There was a strange trend about the morality of eating meat. I'm sorry but comparing a human to a cow or chicken is ridiculous. it also felt a little too much like Stargate for a little while and maybe that accounts for the feeling of dejavu. It's not a bad story and comes to a decent ending. I'm looking forward to the next book getting us back on track. Mr. Daniel's knocks the performance out of the park as usual!

You will continue to live it.

Mr. Fox keeps you entertained and mesmerized with each chapter. The ending well let's just say you'll love it and definitely be wanting to get the next book as soon as you can. The one thing that Mr. Fox does is keep you focused on each characters story within the main story so you can fully understand the stories main points. You can also close your eyes and see each picture or scene as clear as a bell. You will love this book and be waiting to get the next!

As hoped and expected, this series gets better...

Would you consider the audio edition of The Gardens of Nibiru to be better than the print version?

I have trouble reading text - I can do it, but - audio is always better for me.

What did you like best about this story?

Spaceships, aliens, a struggle for humanity's survival - undertones on the question of what makes a person a person? - What's not to like? The story is intriguing for me, it h as many elements that are similar to other SciFi novels with space travel and aliens, its another book with all of humanity's ability to exist on the line, but it is also imaginative and unique. - The overall story does some things that I didn't expect, nor could have imagined. It literally does everything for me a good SciFi book with space ships and aliens should do.

Which scene was your favorite?

You're not asking me to spoil anything now are you?! There's a scene with a Trojan Horse, does it work, does it not? I think its my favorite.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I don't think actual tears came out of my eyes, but there were a couple of scenes where I felt like I was crying or about to cry.

Any additional comments?

I've seen the comments, not everyone finds this series enjoyable. I'm not going to tell you its amazing, but it is a 4 out of 5 in my book. I'm enjoying it, I'm not finding it boring, its a solid book. - I would read it again, so 4 out of 5.
