Same formula:but it still works

If you've read the previous books in the series you know the formula. The author is like a cook who cooks the same comfort food again and again. That isn't necessarily a bad thing as he is really good at it. I would say this is my favorite of the series so far. that is because it the story gets moving faster than the previous books. The other books you have to slog through the first several chapters before the story gains momentum.

This book you start off with a character you know who also is not being thrown out of recluse. So, it is at least slightly different. I think the real draw to this series is you care about the characters and world and want to see how things turn out. I enjoyed this one, more in fact than the previous ones. You have to have read the previous books, but if you have then It's worth a listen.

- Cliff "I like scifi and urban fantasy. I don't like romance novels. If you are the same my reviews should help."

I don't normally do this, but.....

The story is typical Modisett, good to great, and the narrator is galumphing along, when all of a sudden he makes sound effects for a horse or a fireball. These are grating enough to take me out of the story and make me consider the fast forward ff button
