Publisher's summary

This audiobook contains the complete Thunder in the Heavens series (Thunder of War and Thunder of Vengeance).

The Tyrell are a race that love to fight. The more difficult the fight, the better they like it. Every race they find is given the same level of technology and a specific amount of time to exploit it before the Tyrell come back looking for a fight. Humanity is warned by another alien species that the Tyrell are coming, and the race is on to build an Alliance of races strong enough to stand up against an empire whose expansion has been relentless.

Cate Harrow and Gort Eagleton are two officers who might be good enough to beat the Tyrell if their own incompetent leadership can get out of the way and if their alien allies don't stab humanity in the back.

This fast-paced, action-packed military SF series looks at both sides as they play the grandest chess game of all.

Pretty good military/space opera

A fairly typical story for it's genre. Very predictable with unimaginative aliens. However, the plot and performance are good enough to sustain interest.

I just really liked the book

The title says it is the complete series. Maybe not maybe a second story continues with a different title. There are those books where the writing is good and the narrator does a great job. I tried but had no luck in having Mr. Daniels narrate my book Adjuster Stories. He was just too busy and it is because he is easy to listen too and keeps the listener interested. So my rating is solid 5 Stars across all three categories. Try this one and you should like it like I did.

Great space opera

I’m 20 years removed from the last space opera series i read. Well presented without unnecessary back stories. Highly entertaining.

Fantastically Minimalist in a good way

Raw action without the unneeded story clutter is not always needed with this type of book. That is not a bad thing in this case. The story hits some sort of minimal necessary narrative and relentlessly moves to the exciting parts over and over again. Especial good listen if you just had a scifi that tried to execute a complex narrative, but did so poorly.

Fantastic!

What happens next!!?? More please! Maybe a little more space combat next time. Though the big picture was good, I'd like to see a story from a pilots viewpoint

Chess in Space

Good plot, good characters but the aha moments got repetitive. I wish the characters had been given more depth. There was no insight into their lives outside of work and this left me feeling disconnected a but.
Descriptions of alien races are kept to a minimum and this allows you to imagine them in almost any way you please. Overall it was fun.

Fast pace Action

Would of given 5 starts for the story if characters would of been described more physically.

Needed more character development.

I liked the plot line but could not invest in the story. We learn nothing but any of the characters beyond name rank and serial #.

Fun read

I've read a lot of military space sci fi so nothing in this was new to me but it was a fun read nonetheless. Luke Daniels is a masterful narrator as always.
