Publisher's Summary

Librarian spy Irene and her apprentice Kai return for another "tremendously fun, rip-roaring adventure" (A Fantastical Librarian), third in the bibliophilic fantasy series from the author of The Masked City.
Never judge a book by its cover...
Due to her involvement in an unfortunate set of mishaps between the dragons and the Fae, Librarian spy Irene is stuck on probation, doing what should be simple fetch-and-retrieve projects for the mysterious Library. But trouble has a tendency to find both Irene and her apprentice, Kai - a dragon prince - and, before they know it, they are entangled in more danger than they can handle...
Irene's longtime nemesis, Alberich, has once again been making waves across multiple worlds, and, this time, his goals are much larger than obtaining a single book or wreaking vengeance upon a single Librarian. He aims to destroy the entire Library – and to make sure Irene goes down with it.
With so much at stake, Irene will need every tool at her disposal to stay alive. But even as she draws her allies close around her, the greatest danger might be lurking from somewhere close - someone she never expected to betray her...

fun listen, we'll spun story.

Thoroughly enjoyed the narrator, and the twists and turns in the story. A great addition to the series, and the development of the characters/ friendships

Another great book in the Invisible Library series. Full of intrigue and great fun. I throughly enjoyed listening to this latest installment and can't wait for the next one.

Great story ruined by TERRIBLE narration

I love the Library stories having read them in the traditional format up to now and was really looking forward to listening to the latest on audio.
Alas! Does the narrator get to listen back to their recording? Surely they would notice the same intonation repeated over and over and over for every sentence!
Actually, the producer is probably more at fault - they should be sacked for allowing this travesty to be published.
But most of all I feel sorry for Genevieve Cogman who's great stories have been completely ruined, none of the subtleties and humour in the writing were represented at all.
What a shame.

Great story, poor narration

Considering that this story is about the Invisible Library and about every second sentence has the word library in it, it's ridiculous that the narrator seems to be unable to pronounce it as anything other than libaree! She has a rather stilted and disconnected narrating style, rather flat and with peculiar inflections. Shame that the book has been spoiled by this, please get someone else to narrate the one that's due out this!year
