Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I loved reading this book as a kid, and was really happy to find an audio version of it as an adult.
What did you like best about this story?
I really enjoy how well Asprin crafts the culture of the Tzen. You get to know how the society works through the main character's interaction, and it is a fun ride.
Which scene was your favorite?
I enjoyed how the evolution of the Tzen was laid out. When there are Tzen introduced who can see in color, they do a good job of ensuring that the other Tzen have a difficult time understanding the concept.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Any additional comments?
Listening to this book made cutting and stacking firewood during the winter an enjoyable way to spend the evening.

I have owned a print copy of this book but over the years and after so many re-reads it had fallen apart hence I was delighted to be able to acquire an audiobook replacement. This is a short book about the war between the Tzen, fierce warriors, master strategists, and reptiles, and the Insects, savage conquerors, brilliant technicians, and insects, fight their fiercest battle yet. It's a great story with a really strong, well defined character, Rahm, who almost makes you feel you are living his experiences through the telling of his career. A "Starship Troopers" for Lizard Lovers :)

This is a simple yet enjoyable story very well read by Clinton Wade.
If it's dense, technical space opera you're looking for, however, then disappointment awaits.
Quite a bit of the story actually makes no sense at all but the dialogue and interactions between the different members of the Tzen more than made up for that - for me, anyway.
Giant Lizards Vs Insects. Everyone needs a bit of that.
