Fun and Amuzing with a Cool Story Idea.

Any additional comments?

Three stars out of five for being a fun, amusing read with a cool story idea, but there are some plot issues and narrative problems that keep it from reaching any higher.

This novelette is written for the amusement of readers, and it is amusing. Some parts are more smoothly written than others; I was both intrigued and bewildered, in the course of this story. The author is clearly a fan of his three sources, however, the characterizations of Cyrano de Bergerac, Quasimodo, and the Phantom of the Opera don’t always mirror the depth of their originals. But kudos to Hollingsworth, for the try.

It is a quick read, coming in at just under two hours. Charlotte Duckett has a decent voice and starts off strong. Unfortunately, she seems to have been rushed during the last third, which created unnatural pauses in sentences and pacing. There also are noticeable computer clicks and page turning that should’ve been removed during the editing process.
