Evelyn E. Smith was a popular science-fiction writer for many years. Like many science-fiction writers, he attempted humor in some of his stories, but unlike most of them, he achieved it. In this story, Earth has been taken over by a benevolent alien race that now does all the manual labor and allows humans to lead a life of leisure.
