Cliches Abound

Would you try another book from Jasmine Walt and/or Laurel Schroeder?

No! I found the writing to be simplistic and cliched.

Would you ever listen to anything by Jasmine Walt again?

The story line was predictable - even the reactions of each of the characters was cliche. I wanted it to work and listened to the end hoping for a twist but alas none

How could the performance have been better?

I found the narration stilted, delivering each sentence as a stand alone statement.

Any additional comments?

I think it is amazingly insecure when an author ends a series or book with the story still unfinished thinking that that it will make the reader buy the next book.

A series can have the complexity of stories within stories. Especially with fantasy the ability to do this is endless. Even though the publisher was generous enough to put 3 books together all books were incomplete even the final story solves nothing!

I urge Jasmine to trust in her story telling and skill and give the reader a complete story - they will come back to you if the writing and characters are strong.

good but is this author actually a woman?

The story is fine, a little harlequin romance perhaps but engaging. Despite the main charactwr being a strong female the story is full of sexism, from the denigration of the feminine lesbian under cover persona to the female characters using their 'wiles' in very stereotypical ways. The male characters seem to have better personal character than all the female ones. is this author actually a woman or a guy with a female pen name?
