Publisher's Summary

College Freshman Shella Danforth has spent the past four years running from the part of herself she believes to be a monster: Her wolf. Shella is a shadow-shifter, a being who can shift into one of three forms: human, wolf, or shadow.
When young children start mysteriously vanishing from their homes at night, Shella is sure that something supernatural is responsible. Forced to team up with lifelong nemesis and fellow shifter Tran Dashner, Shella discovers that the culprit may be closer to her than she'd like to believe. To unravel the mystery, Shella must first learn to control her wolf—before it learns to control her.

Re-listening for the 4th time!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

1. The dialogue. It's absolutely hilarious, but real.
2. The characters. Shella starts off fairly unlikable, a girl broken by the world, and watching her develop and realize her faults is entertaining. Supporting characters are equally dynamic.
3. The romance is subtle, but all the more satisfying in its slowness. Tran isn't the typical alpha you usually find in paranormals, and his chemistry with Shella is sizzling.

Have you listened to any of Morgan Barnhart’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Nope. She does a good job distinguishing character's voices and drawing you into the story.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, but I don't want to spoil it. Lots of feels.
