Publisher's Summary

THEM Counteraction
Book three in the Scratch Sullivan Paranormal Postapocalyptic Action Novel Series
As a hunter in postapocalyptic central Texas, Scratch Sullivan has survived zombies, vampires, rogue militia units - heck, he even killed a werewolf with nothing more than a spear and a bad attitude.
But what's a man to do when the local werewolf pack destroys his town and abducts his best girl?
If you're Scratch Sullivan, you get spittin' mad - and then you get retribution. Even if an army of the undead and an entire pack of 'thropes sits in your way.
Now he's on a mission to wipe out the Corridor werewolves and get his girlfriend, Kara, back, and one thing's for sure....
When he's done, those 'thropes are going to know they should never have messed with Scratch Sullivan. Because Scratch is going to put that wolf pack down like the rabid dogs they are - or he'll die trying.
THEM: Counteraction is a paranormal take on SHTF, the "end of the world as we know it" novels (with zombies, vampires, and, yes, werewolves), set in postapocalyptic central Texas. Get your copy today, and discover the twisted, dystopian, Southern-fried world of Scratch Sullivan and THEM.

What the Critics Say

"...manages to blend everything I like about zombie novels, vampire hunting novels, dystopian fiction at large, the CW show Supernatural, and John Wayne westerns all in one beautiful, gore-infused shot. This series is a must read for horror enthusiasts and zombie fans alike." (Fox Emm, ZombieApocalypse.net)

This is one story that many will love

Onto number three! This series, although a bit out of my comfort zone, just keeps getting better and better.

Scratch has been through quite a bit. He's proven himself but he also has allies that are there for him, and luckily, at the right place and at the right time. He also could have been killed off multiple times by all the freaks (Bobby's word, not mine) that want to kill him but they keep pulling their punches. It's like they like the sport of keeping him alive. That and they keep telling him he's nothing compared to what's coming.

Needless to say the drama in this is top notch. There's always so much going on. At one point he says that it's been a couple weeks and with the amount of crap he's been through I was surprised. Some chapters are one day or evening long and he progresses the story by explaining step by step what is happening. That may sound boring but instead it's riveting. It keeps me on the edge of my seat. That and the fact that he's always running head long into some other thrilling cat and mouse chase. Sometimes it's hard to tell who is the cat and who is the mouse.

The narrator once again is able to use inflection in such a way as to allow the listening to know when the action is starting and when it's dissipating. The music helps with this as well, as do the screams! I love that this is a full production but if the narrator were bad, everything would come to a halt. Fortunately S.W. Salzman is so good at what he does that I cannot and do not want to stop listening. The production is top notch, so much so that I talked my husband into listening to this as well. The screams and the voices of the freaks are a little off putting, but I'm pretty sure they're meant to be. Which makes them even better!

More pop culture references in this one as well. I giggle at most of them because they're made seemingly to cut the tension, and they do. Hilariously, many of the characters do not understand most of the references, which makes it all the funnier.

There is a lot of talk about weaponry. This is an apocalypse with multiple types of monsters. While this doesn't do anything to turn me on due to not having any idea to the power of most of these weapons sans the katana, Scratch seems pretty impressed with most of them. I'm sure those listening with a military or tactical background will absolutely love these parts. There are many but they are strewn about enough to make it feel like Scratch is really fighting a war against an enemy that we are not used to. It adds to the plot instead of taking away.

In short: This is one story that many will love. Scratch is a unique character that matches the uniqueness of the plot line.
