When Mickey stepped into that bar, he never expected to find out he was the most powerful superhero the world had ever seen.
But when footage of him beating up the strongest hero, and biggest bully, in the tri-state area goes viral, suddenly the world can't get enough of him.
Now villains are challenging him, the hero society is ringing his line off the hook - and the endorsements? Well, they're second only in size to his burgeoning fan club.
And since no one's super powers work on him, he's never been closer to the top than ever before.
There's just one problem.
The world's greatest villain has returned from the dead, and he's set his sights on making Mickey his first victim.
Please note: This audiobook contains a harem. You have been warned.

Superhuman man, does whatever a Superhuman can
I have to say that it’s about freaking time that J. A. Cipriano got into the Superhero game. He has hit just about every other genre, and his perspective on things isn’t always like that of other authors. Cipriano is one of my favorite authors. I’ve loved his work ever since I first read his story, The Pen is Mightier. I have sought out everything he has done so far, and loved every bit of it, and I knew that this wasn’t going to be any different.
First off, I have to comment on the cover. The artwork isn’t gorgeous to look at, but it is Mickey in an action pose, and looks cool enough to warrant me taking a second glance. So it does pull you in. The funny thing is, I don’t know if this is intentional or not but he reminds me of Rocky Balboa as he rushes down the street to the Art Museum. Either way, I love the look on his face, and he appears heroic enough to make me satisfied with the cover.
Now, you’ve read the blurb, you know the deal. Mickey beats the crap out of the toughest “hero” bully in the area, and suddenly finds himself thrust into the spotlight, and having to deliver on his new image. There are a lot of things in this book that I found interesting, not the least of which is the boxing overtones that it has running throughout it. Given Jason’s penchant for Harem type stories I have to say that there isn’t any overly explicit material, as we cut away from those types of scenes and that he kind of has a steady with some side chicks rather than a Harem. I felt this actually worked well. I don’t need overt sex in my superhero stories, and shoot, Mickey isn’t perfect, but he is a man and he seems to be in an open relationship that everyone is OK with.
There is one thing that I will call out. Mickey’s power is such that he is very vulnerable to a long ranged attack. Basically, a sniper or someone with laser tech (or powers) could distance themselves from him and take him out in one shot. Realistically, I have to consider how many people knew his powers were based on proximity. Fat is though, all it would take is for one person to know and decide to make their life easier with a pack of C4 and a timer, hire a sniper, or use some other tech to take him out. There is a twist at the end of the book, which I enjoyed. J.A. knows how to write and keep his story interesting. This is a fun novel, and I cannot wait for the sequel, since there will be a sequel.
Luke Daniels narrates, and I have to say he turns this fare into a Masterpiece! His voice is so full of emotion and energy. He plays every character to the fullest potential possible. Luke is the consummate professional, and has done a ton of narration on numerous books. I have never heard him make a misstep, an error, or a mispronunciation. Ever. He does some incredible work here, and really brings home Mickey’s character. You empathize with him even more because of Daniels.
I highly anticipate the next book in this series. I cannot wait to see what Cipriano comes up with next! Even though I did receive a promo code for this review it in no way influenced my considerations of the material, and in fact, inspired me to be more honest. In fact, getting a code generally makes me harsher as a reviewer as I am more often concerned what someone like Me will decide based on my review.

Absolutely loved it.
J.A. Cipriano has written dozens of books, created ton of series, and even after reading or listening to many of them I am thrilled to say he can still surprise me. Up until now my favorite Cipriano series have been the Soulstone series, but this series may give it a run for its money. This is a funny, fast paced, action packed superhero story with awesome characters and a great storyline. It also has a hint of a harem element, but it's hardly a focal point. I absolutely loved the superhero infested world Mr. Cipriano has created and can't wait to see where he takes the series.
The book is narrated by Luke Daniels, who is one my favorite narrators. Seriously, the man never disappoints and he is one of the few narrators that is able to tackle any/every genre. He does a fantastic job of bringing the characters and world to life, and he truly knows how to deliver lines for maximum humor. Cipriano's words and Daniels' narration are an awesome combination.
I received a copy of this audio title for free in exchange for an unbiased review.

The good parts are over shadowed by the bad.
the story lacks depth, leaves you feeling like half of it was cut out and shortcuts were made to get to the finish line. Voice acting was pretty good except for the female voices blending together from time to time. also whilst I appreciate the main character getting with a gorgeous woman it felt like he got with ALL of them turning the book into little more than a self inverting fan fiction. This is mainly an issue because their are characters and story elements that could have made this a great book but instead we just get more characters that have one time appearances, that as little to the story and instead take up time on needless descriptions and guff.
I would not recommend this book to anyone, but I would recommend the author take another look to lower the amount of characters and increase the complexity/depth of the story as this is certainly the beginnings of something good.

Great Story, Weak Second-Half.
The story is pretty great, it immediately caught my attention in the first chapter and retained a high quality story and narration throughout most of the book. The only complaint I have is the second half which felt a bit rushed. Overall it's a great book despite its cover and genre putting me off buying it for a couple of weeks.
Give it a listen if you want some laughs and something fun to listen to.
