Publisher's Summary

As the war between the Republic and the scattered remnants of the Empire continues, two children, the Jedi twins, will come into their powers in a galaxy on the brink of vast changes and challenges. In this time of turmoil and discovery, an extraordinary new Star Wars saga begins.
While Luke Skywalker takes the first step toward setting up an academy to train a new order of Jedi Knights, Han Solo and Chewbacca are taken prisoner on the planet Kessel and forced to work in the fathomless depths of a spice mine. But when Han and Chewie break away, they flee to a secret Imperial research laboratory surrounded by a cluster of black holes - going from one danger to a far greater one.On Kessel, Luke picks up the trail of his two friends, only to come face to face with a weapon so awesome it can wipe out an entire solar system. It is a death ship called the Sun Crusher, invented by a reclusive genius and piloted by none other than Han himself.

Yep, I'm that jerk that is going to review a book after the first 10 minutes. I would wait, but I'm done with it. I just revived my interest in Star Wars by re-upping my Old Republic game subscription and read the Thrawn Trilogy expertly narrated by Marc Thompson. His voice acting was exception and the story was compelling. I devoured them and moved onto the next books (chronologically according to Wookiepedia) in the series.
And I'm heart broken. Mr Anderson has made Han Solo sound like an idiot with the line "before they turn us into Space Meat!".. I almost gave up right there. But Anthony Heald, whose voice is remarkable, is now mispronouncing important names (Han and Corruscant both were teeth grindingly annoying).

So yeah, 10 minutes in and I give up. It is the first time in 6 years that I've been so disppointed by both the narrator and the story that I haven't just looked at the good and ignored (or grimaced thru) the bad. I doubt I will do any of the other Star Wars novels except those that have the Zahn / Thompson combo.

Bad way to ruin a good book.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Anthony Heald?

Marc Tompson
The guy has awesome voices that make the story WAY more enjoyable.

Any additional comments?

I absolutely hated the narrator.

I guess i was spoiled the last few books i listened to were read by Marc Tompson.\

He should read EVERY Star Wars book.
