Publisher's Summary

Fighting alongside the Corellian rebels, Han and Leia are locked in a war against their son, Jacen, who grows more powerful and more dangerous with each passing day. Nothing can stop Jacen's determination to bring peace with a glorious Galactic Alliance victory - whatever the price. While Luke grieves the loss of his beloved wife and deals with the guilt over killing the wrong person in retaliation, Jaina, Jag, and Zekk hunt for the real assassin, unaware that the culprit commands Sith powers that can cloud their minds and misdirect their attacks - and even turn them back on themselves. As Luke and Ben Skywalker struggle to find their place among the chaos, Jacen, shunned by friends and family, launches an invasion to rescue the only person still loyal to him. But with the battle raging on, and the galaxy growing more turbulent and riotous, there's no question that it is Jacen who is most wanted - dead or alive.

Great Series! Great production!

Very well done for a Star Wars audiobook. Even though it is abridged, the 6 hour run-time leaves enough material to make this audiobook entertaining. That said, you can still notice gaps where, I assume, material was cut out for the abridgement. This can be annoying after a while. I won't beat around the bush, I loathe any abridgement and I would encourage people to complain to the publisher so that they will begin releasing unabridged versions of these books. Other than that, this book was excellent. Marc Thompson is one of the most talented narrators that I have heard. It is a pleasure to listen to him. The different character voices that he assumes throughout the book are executed flawlessly and I had to keep reminding myself that it was the same person speaking. The writing, sound production, and music were all top notch. I would give this 5 stars if not for the abridgement.

One last thing, stay away from any of the star wars audiobooks that are less than 6 hours in length. They are so butchered by the abridgements, that they are not worth your time or money. Quite a few of these are narrated by Anthony Heald and he is just plain awful. I found this out the hard way. Just remember, Anthony Heald = extremely poor narration. Jonathan Davis = Extremely good narration. Marc Thompson = Outstanding narration.

No more abridgement!

What disappointed you about Star Wars?

Great story and the narrator Marc Tompson is fantastic. These abridged versions however are a huge disappointment. I will finish the rest of this story but will no longer give up my credits or purchase any more of these abridged versions ever again. It sucks that the producers and random house audio have created so many abridged books.. They are a huge let down. I feel some what ripped off. I have some titles that are 40+ hours of content and cost 1 credit. These are barely 6 hrs and are so chopped up as to take more away they give.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Anger! At the abridgement!
