Publisher's summary

Leveling up on the high seas

Castle Sardonis is surrounded by enemies on all sides and dangerously short of supplies. When a needed shipment goes missing the party finds themselves on the high seas beset by pirates and seeking the Goddess of the Sea. New loot, new levels, and new mysteries to unravel as more is learned about the world.

Liam, Walt, and Ashley return

Immediately following the story from Dungeon Crawl, the focus remains with the same group and focused on their struggles within the Crucible Shard. Bonds of friendship continue to grow, but they each find themselves pushed in new ways by this world.

LitRPG

If you haven't listened to book one and have no idea what this new genre is about that's ok. LitRPG has the focus on characters in a virtual world using those familiar mechanics. It is really a lot of fun and has a lot of enthusiastic fans.

Great but short

I am loving these books and wish they were longer. The character interactions are top notch.

He Said... She Said... He Said...

The story was interesting. The writing was awful... xxx said. yyy said. xxx said... zzz said... xxx said.

Yeah, that is the way most of the story went. This author needs to learn how to write better than an high school beginning English class :(

IMPROV IMPROV IMPROV!

The first book was all about a short sighted guy who was a slut and becomes a Dark Paladin for a God all about passion and fire!. All the choices made for gameplay mixed with immature short sightedness on the part of an Evil above-it-all God and her lustful Paladin makes for an entertaining lighthearted story.

A bit shallow, but still a fair bit of fun

I came off a couple of awful books, and while this series is a little more shallow than most, I think it's what I needed. I'll come back for the next one, but not just yet.

What I like most is the character interaction. It's just plain fun. I wouldn't say the characters develop all that much through the course of the story, and they tend to be almost-but-not-quite one dimensional, but it kind of works. Were it longer, that might start to wear thin, but as it is, it works.

The strangest part of all of this is that despite the fact that the story itself isn't anything special, I find myself, as an artist, wanting to paint the characters. It's that kind of alive.

True Review

While new to the lit-rpg genre I have enjoyed the story and characters there within. Can't wait for the next story.
