Set in Central England in 1127 Lord Drogan now a Warrior but when he was once a Knight for the King he, and his fellow Knights, we're forced to do evil things for the realm and because of this, they are each haunted by an evil darkness that's growing and consuming their thoughts. Still friends with those Knights, he decides to visit one of them (Gerard) because his wife has recently had a baby..... but Drogan doesn't realise this will involve a cross country dash in order to save his, and his friend's lives.
Serena is a bana-bhuidseach, a cursed witch as within 3 months of them giving birth (always a girl) their husbands/lovers will leave them. If they touch you they can see into the future (usually your/their death) and Serena is friends with Gerard and his wife and she's staying at Gerard's Castle too. There's a deadly problem as she sees the death of Gerard and his family so they all set off to change the future but ever time they head on a course the future changes for everyone. The couples decide to split up and, as fate has thrown them together, Drogan and Serena try desperately to reach his Castle and avoid their evil pursuers. The couple's mutual attraction soon grows but they each fight it because she doesn't want the curse's heartbreak of losing him and Drogans torn because his darkness is quickly closing in on him.
They are both honest, loyal, kind, thoughtful, tough, strong and protective and each reach a fork in the road of their future together - can he conquer the past and can she grab love despite the curse. There's tension, tragedy, evil entities, action, touching emotional scenes, passion, sex and a sweet romance as the couple learn to trust that love can bring redemption and just might conquer all. But eventually someone's fate is foreseen - the choice is death of one or the death of another..... and so they make the ultimate heartbreaking sacrifice.
Worth a credit? There's great imagery and, although the couple get their HEA ending, the storyline is unresolved and left open ready for book 2 and I can't wait. So yes, we'll worth a credit.

Is there anything you would change about this book?
The Story was good, not one of Donna Grants best.
Would you recommend Shadow Magic to your friends? Why or why not?
It was just an ok story so I probably wouldn't recommend it.
Would you be willing to try another one of M. Capehart’s performances?
I will never listen to another book by M Capehart. Her voice is flat and stays that way through the entire book.
Any additional comments?
I am a Donna Grant Fan, however I will not listen to another book if its read by M. Capehart. Her narration of the book has just killed the story and I will probably not finish the series because of this.
