Publisher's summary

"I am Meredith Gentry, P.I., and Princess Merry, heir to the throne of Faerie. Now there are those among us who whisper I am more. And who can blame them? I've awakened the dazzling magic that's slumbered in them for thousands of years. But the thing is, I can't figure out why.

"My aunt, Queen of Air and Darkness, is no longer distracted by her sadistic hobbies. Her obsession has turned unwaveringly to me. The mission to get me pregnant and beat my cousin Prince Cel to the crown is taking longer than expected. Even though I spend each night with the Queen's Ravens, my immortal guards, no child has come of our decadent pleasures.

"But something else is happening. My magic courses through me uncontrollably. And as I lock my half-mortal body with their full-Sidhe-blooded ones, the power surges like never before.

"It all began with a chalice. I dreamed of it, and it appeared, cool and hard, beside me when I awoke. My guards know the ancient relic well - its disappearance ages ago stripped them of all of their vital powers. But it is here with us now. My touch resonates with its force, and they're consumed with it, their Sidhe essences lit up by it.

"But even as they cherish me for this unexpected gift, there are those who loathe me for it. Me, a mongrel, only half fey and part mortal. The Unseelie court has suffered for so long, and there are some who would not have it weakened further by an impure queen. My enemies grow in number every day. But they do not know what I am capable of. Nor, for that matter, do I."

Critic reviews

"Hamilton's trademark mix of the personal and emotional along with the sexual will as usual delight her fans....yet another tour de force ending." ( Publishers Weekly)

Laural Merlington confused?

What made the experience of listening to Seduced by Moonlight the most enjoyable?

I love the story!

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

While Laural Merlington has been narrating this series, from the beginning she seems to have forgotten how she had previously pronounced a number of the major character's names. Its very distracting, i had to check and see if it was the same narrator it was so bad. I hope she remembers before the next book.

Any additional comments?

While i love the story, the narrator mis-pronouncing names really sucked.

Tantalizing tales

Love this series... I think it is a great story line; it leaves me wanting to know more on how the story will play out. I'm on my way now to book 4...!

Respect to Laural Merlington

I understand the difficulty adjusting to the name pronunciation changes. But after looking it up and finding there is a glossary out of how to say the names, Laural has my respect for making the changes and pronouncing them in the ways they are meant to be. By the end of the book I didn't even notice the differences because I was too engrossed in the story. I absolutely love everything I've read by Laurell K Hamilton! Going right now to get the next one to listen to! 🤩

What just happened?

I’ve read the books before and listening to the audiobooks have been a treat until this book. Laural, what happened? How did you suddenly forget how to pronounce names you pronounced just fine in the first and second book? Yes, I understand Gaelic names are hard to pronounce, but apart from Siobhan you did a marvelous job in the first and second books. With this one you dropped the ball and it was more than a bit distracting.

great story, frustrating narration

this narrator is frustrating. with each book she changes her pronounciation of the names of characters. why would you pronounce Doyle as "Dole"?

Love LKH!

I'm new to audiobooks. The first two books the narrator said Doyle and Andais one way. In the third book she says "Dole" and "Andiais" which was a struggle to reconcile.

Great story!

Love the book! Pronouncement of names should be the same throughout the whole series. She changed the way she said multiple main characters.

Good

It’s a good show of meradith taking control of her powers but a lot a repeating of places and people’s taken out of the past two books.
