Almost gave up on book 2

Book 2 is a little bit over-the-top. Was a little heavy on the Indian mysticism and "god" talking to the survivors. Too many conveniences were provided to the survivors. Only redeeming read in the book was the epilogue. Had to listen to the whole book just to get to the good part! On the fence if book 3 ever comes out.

Pretty good read as well.

The first time I listened to this story I was not impressed. I didn’t even finish this book the first go around. That’s how unimpressed I was. So much so, that I vowed never to listen to this series again! But here I am finishing book 2, and going on to book 3. The cliffhanger at the end really made me want to see what happens next

Quantum what?

Holly cow. What an intense story. Have to listen to it when quiet and unbothered. Or sure would miss something. Had to go back a few time. Wow so simple, but so complex. Well written. Highly recommended.

Great Follow-up to Scabs: The Gemini Exception!

I loved the first book in this series (Scabs: The Gemini Exception) so much that I was almost afraid that the follow up couldn’t possibly make me love it as much. Have faith in this author, because he did it! Love, love Scabs: The Quantum Connection!!! I was so happy to be back among these characters that I had grown to love so much in the first installment as well as adding a new group of survivors, who come into the story from a very unusual and interesting place. The story just keeps ramping up with new threats and new revelations, and creatures that are evolving into something even scarier than they already were. The narration is top notch in this one, just as it was in the first. I found this is hard to stop once I started, so I suggest that you plan to be up all night and keep the lights on! I can’t wait for the third book in this trilogy.

One of my favorite stories!

Before I listen to an audio book, I always read the story first, giving myself the chance to hear in my mind the characters as they speak. Scabs II was no different. This author paints the scenes with his words and descriptions and you can't help but hear the action going on too. Now listening to the story while the author himself reads it? Well it is twice as good! Eric A. Shelman draws you into this book with his perfect articulation and gives new meaning to narration! He can take the words on the page and hit it perfectly as to how the character should sound with each infliction in his voice. The story was creepy good before but now after listening to it, well once again I will be sleeping with the lights on as I did after reading it!

My review:
Just as the first book in this series, Scabs: The Gemini Exception drew me into its engrossing story line, the second book, Scabs II: The Quantum Connection, had me completely enthralled as I read along. With the characters from the first book surviving in the cabin and trying to learn more about the man eating monsters that are taking over civilization they come upon more information to help in their fight for survival and are met with help from a strange, unexplainable source that will communicate in an even more unusual way. I have to say that the mind of Eric Shelman is one of immense imagination as he spins his cocoon to draw the reader into this story. With family and friendship one of the focal points in this story you can’t help but become emotionally involved with the characters. Feeling their pain and at times hopelessness as they come together to find a solution to this invasion of hellish creatures. If you are looking for a well written, entertaining, edge of your seat apocalyptic story that is very unique of it’s outbreak, then do not hesitate to get into this story. I do advise starting with the first book so you understand what had happened to start this whole ball of wax rolling and to learn who each character is and what important role they play in all of this. This is one series that I highly recommend without hesitation because it is that good!

Great followup.

Would you listen to Scabs II again? Why?

I will re listen to Scabs 2 right before Scabs 3 comes out.
Its a great story line.

What other book might you compare Scabs II to and why?

I cant really compare Scabs to anything because I havent come across anything like it. This is why this series is so great. Its new.

Which scene was your favorite?

A lot of scenes were great. The one that stands out would be the first time the voice appeared.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Not laugh or cry, but freaked out. When they are checking out the new location, seeing the courtyard filled with the scabs. I thought for sure they were going to break through the glass and get them.

Any additional comments?

I cant wait for the next installment. Really enjoying this series. Its a new concept. Like who thinks of a light causing a scab that turns into a monster? Eric A Shelman did. Thanks!!!

I love Eric Shelman's books but......

I am just starting to get into audiobooks, and enjoy having them play while I read along with them at night. Unfortunately, this audiobook does not sync to my ebook. To make matters worse, the chapters are not marked correctly, making finding my place in the book difficult. The narration itself is awesome, but I really wish it would sync to my book so I can switch back and forth easily or follow along while I read.
