Worthy of a credit for a Dannika Dark fan

Dannika Dark has two previous series, both of which are a part of the paranormal world she has built and are excellent. This is the second book of the Crossbreed series, which is a spinoff of her Mageri series. I enjoyed this particular book because of my familiarity and longtime loyalty to the three series.

However, I was disappointed because the mystery in the story was so obvious and easily solved, and it took her very bright characters far too long to come to the same conclusion. The development of the relationships in the book are also moving at an arctic pace. I'm hoping the next book picks up a little bit because the world and the characters are there and waiting to run in the authors next story.

The narrator is always outstanding !

An Average Sequel with Little Romance

If you're open to just getting to know the characters introduced in Book 1 of this series a little better via a murder mystery, this is probably worth your time. However, this book on it's own isn't super great. The story is incredibly predictable and not all that mysterious, and the lack of foresight and deductive reasoning within the cast of characters is pretty astounding. Raven did show some growth as a female protagonist from the first book in that she was a bit more mature albeit not very perceptive. This book is also considered a paranormal romance, and I would put a checkmark next to paranormal but definitely not romance. There are merely hints at a possible romance, and, ultimately, too much carrot-dangling without reward for the second time in a row.

I continue to find Nicole Poole's narration good enough but not outstanding. I'd give her three-and-a-half stars if that were an option.

I recommend this book to fans of the series or Dannika Dark, but that's it. There's better out there for people looking for a solid paranormal romance.

5 Ravenheart Stars!

I quiet enjoyed the first book, you get to know the world and how the story is going to work. So we have the bones of what this series is going to be.

So with the second book we are already familiar with the characters.
I am a Raven and Christian fan!! But I also love Gem and Nico, and, and, and lol ok I love em all.

This one was filled with so much mystery and action and who done it.
I quiet liked the sexual tension ridding a lot of the characters. But what I love the most was the comradery between all the teammates of Keystone.

Raven and Christian really start to get to know each other and their partnership really is starting to become just that a partnership.
I like the back and forth they have and the tension they have makes you want more, more, more.

I like that Raven is starting to feel welcome with Keystone so much so that she is making her space her own. And she is learning to trust the other members of her the team.

I again will shout it from the roof, I love Nicole Poole's narration is every book I have listened to. She makes you feel a part of the story. I loved this book with her narration because she does give each person their own voice. And I am sure that can't be easy with so many characters but she always manages to do it flawlessly.

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

5/5-great series--a MUST READ

Dannika Dark Bk 1-Keystone- was a great start to a new series--It totally set character, plot, time, and place. It was a start to the whole new world and how it worked.

Bk 2- Ravenheart---What a continuation. The same character but now you know them and see the comradely grow. I don't want to spoil this adventure/ murder/ paranormal diamond amongst the books you can buy. More action in this story--more understandings--more fun--and yes more questions to be answered. The perfect series that leads you into the next book.

I was impressed with the narration of Nicole Poole. Her ability at voices and accents enhance this complex story with many individual characters that intertwine to make Keystone work.

Comment to authror-Dannika Dark---I can't wait to see what comes of John in future novels.

Slow romance

I guess I like books that are faster paced in the romance department as well as the main characters do NOT sleep with other people. Why does it seem to be ok for the men to be man whores but the main girl barely gets to kiss, date or make out with another guys?? It was beyond frustrating to read how Christian has sex with girls almost every night while Raven is a proper lady! My dislike of all that has dampened any desire to want to finish the series.

Glad I found this series.

Loving this series. Group of interesting, solid characters with a world build that doesn't overwhelm or get confusing while still separating itself from other books. These are books I don't want to put down. If you're into urban fantasy, this series is a must read.

Absolutely Ridiculous

I struggled to finish this book. I liked the first book for the most part but I can not stand Raven. She is very immature and I honestly was hoping for her death in this story in order to get a new lead. Her immaturity in dealing with her feelings for the vampire, to the fact she is supposed to be so street smart she can't even tell when a killer is in front of her. I also didn't appreciate how judgemental she was to the date and mocked her because she wore a dress that showed her cleavage. Raven acts like a child and is a horrible main character to get behind. The book had little romance and thin plot and instead of this being a story about a band of misfits finding redemption through protecting others. This book is a jumbled mess that makes very little sense and has an unlikable main character. Really wanted to love this book due to all of the great reviews but it just wasn't for me. The acting is great by the voice actor but that's the only redeeming quality of this book.

The wait for Book 3 will be torture!

Any additional comments?

I'm really loving this series, and its characters. Of course, I have loved Christian since being introduced to him in the Mageri series (in fact, he may have been my all-time favorite from that series), but I really like Raven, too. I am also growing fond of the other Keystone members, too, though some could certainly stand to be further developed, as they are just a few shades beyond being two-dimensional. Overall, though, they are a fun bunch, whom I can't wait to continue getting to know!

love this series!

I love this series!! Read it multiple times. I love Christian and Raven. I love their stories. I love the supernatural beings that make up Keystone and their family. I love this magical world. Dannika is an amazing writer — I laugh. I cry. I get sucked into her stories and stay up late reading. I always pre-order her stories! Do not miss out on this series because you may have been swayed by negative reviews. These books are amazing!!!
Note: This review is long overdue and will be the same for all the books in the series.
