What did you love best about Powers?
The writing is sport on. The balk of the story is basically a roadtrip and while you know from the start their is going to be a romance at the end it is more genuine than alot of authentic romance novels.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Trick question. Both Al and Mel are just as enjoyable as the other.
Would you be willing to try another one of Steven Roy Grimsley’s performances?
No. The only redeeming quality of this narration is since there are only four character Mr. Grimsley has to portray though out the story it is fairly easy to keep track of who's who.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
There are plenty of laughs though out story but nothing that made me want to cry.
Any additional comments?
First and foremost this is modern fantasy not urban fantasy. What's the difference? Simply put modern fantasy is fantasy taking place in a modern settings but not not necessarily being centered around a city or town while urban fantasy is fantasy taking place in a certain city.or town.
Where does Powers rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
My audiobook preference leans toward the Mystery/Thriller genre. But, I was attracted by the cover art and elected to take a listen, be entertained, and learn more about the modern/urban fantasy genre. Very pleasant and sparky, electrical journey.
What other book might you compare Powers to and why?
"The Chosen" by John G. Hartness.
What about Steven Roy Grimsley’s performance did you like?
Grimsley's narration pulled me in. I judge narrators by how well I forget that the book I'm listening to is being narrated. Grimsley was able to remove himself from the telling and become the characters.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Don't touch the sword. Unlock it!
