Publisher's Summary

The small town of Zephyr, Ohio, is home to a very special young woman. Damara is quiet, reclusive - and she has the ability to make other people's dreams, fears, and fantasies all too real. But this isn't an ability that she can control, as many people in town are beginning to learn. For some, dreams are becoming living nightmares. For others, their deepest fears are suddenly alive and worse than they ever imagined. As Damara's powers sweep like a wildfire through the town, her neighbors' long-hidden desires and secret wishes are dragged out into the open - and given life. But as the old saying goes, be careful what you wish for, because in this case - it could kill you.

Can't keep going

This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?

Someone with more patience than me I guess. The concept held great potential but, unfortunately, potential doesn't make a good book. I'm sure there are plenty of people with a gift for ignoring this book's many flaws so that they might focus on what could otherwise be a great story; sadly, I'm not equipped with this gift.

What could Tim Waggoner have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

Mature it up a bit, it read like it was written by a teenager. Develop the characters and storyline more; not to spoon-feed the reader but to at least guide them from one scene to another with believable transition so that there is more fluidity. Get to know his own characters, this might help write more believable and interesting interactions.Learn how to integrate sex or erotic scenes so that they make sense in the context of the story rather than throwing it in out of nowhere. It became evident to me early on that "Pandora Drive" was meant to have an erotica element and some of this writing was even slightly better than mediocre. However, it seemed to always appear out of nowhere with an awkward change in style that made it irritating. He might want to consider some study of female reproductive anatomy as well.

Would you be willing to try another one of Vanessa Mae’s performances?

Possibly. She wasn't a terrible narrator by any means, just not the right narrator for this book. It was like listening to Cinderella reading porn magazine "articles" to her woodland friends. I'm sure someone will like this but it didn't work for me. She should stick with Judy Blume novels.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Pandora Drive?

I wouldn't necessarily cut anything, although I gave up pretty early on so who knows? It needed MUCH more; I might tell the author that it is an ok first draft but that it isn't yet ready to publish.

Any additional comments?

This is a very graphic book. If scenes of extreme sexual and physical violence bother you then you should not read it. Honestly though, even these scenes lacked so much that they often came across more comical than horrifying.
