Enter Jeaniene Frost's Night Huntress series with this short story previously published in the Death's Excellent Vacation anthology.
Vampires Cat Crawford and her husband Bones's romantic vacation is interrupted when they're enlisted to guard a spoiled heiress with both human and undead hitmen on her tail. Things quickly go from bad to worse when details of their assignment make their way through the supernatural grapevine, and what started as a simple bodyguard job ends up being a fight for survival that neither Cat nor Bones saw coming.

Another Great Bones and Cat Story!
Totally love the story, have already read all the books, so like a vampire I am sucking in as many of the Bones and Cat stories that I can get.
Cat and Bones coming together is always enough to keep your mind occupied.
Not Tavia Gilbert
I really love the Cat and Bones story line. Have not read anything yet that has not captured my attention and pulled me in to the wonderful world of the Night Huntress. The only thing that I find wanting is the narration, now to be honest it might be that I am used to Tavia Gilbert's performance from other Night Huntress audio books purchased. Even so, I gave Amanda Ronconi the benefit of the doubt. She is godd, but I would have rather just listened to Bone's parts with straight up American accent than the accent that she used that swung from distinctly Aussie often and far from the semi-cockney version that seems more suited to Bones. It seems like she could not get the accent to stick. ome parts she sounded okay and then the Aussie would creep into her accent. Other than that, she did okay, but just okay.
