Yes, they really ARE out there...seriously!
The gradual descent into madness by the principle, which was inevitable, unavoidable, and yet this listener wanted it to stop . The authenticity of all the characters was rivetting and made for fantastic listening.
The tragic/doomed hero was fabulous ,and brought to life by Meral Mathews with authenticity and clarity. Why? He was someone you ended up caring about, and to see harm come to him was upsetting.
No, but I will. Nothing to compare to.
I actually laughed out loud on a few occassion, and had genuine emotions around some of the actions the "bad guys" ended up doing.
This is an OUTSTANDING offering, and should be on your "Must Listen" list!
It is somewhat violent, and does have some adult themes, which is all fine as this is an adult book. The characters are well drawn, behave in believeable fashions, and the action , while being somewhat fantastic in nature, is realisitic in its detail.
Only downside is that there don't appear to be other Aubible offerings from this prolific author. I am confident that will change soon after the success of this great book.
