Publisher's summary

What lies on the dark side of the moon could change the course of humanity forever.

When a Chinese rover discovers an alien technology on the dark side of the moon, it is up to Richard "Rock" Crandon and his NASA team of scientists and engineers to devise a way to return before the Chinese and Russians.

Forced to deal with bureaucratic oversight and a complex team of personalities, Rock Crandon pushes his team to their limits.

With pressure mounting, the world is pushed closer to conflict and war as the NASA team finds itself seriously behind in the newly initiated space race. The future of mankind, its ideological and technological advances are at stake, as the world's super powers race to discover what lies on the dark side of the moon.

Who will get there first, and at what cost?

Amazing concept...execution?

First, what a great, original concept. I did enjoy the read, however I really felt like there was so much more to be done with this story, given the concept and current relevance. It's short, coming in at around 10 hours. Given the nature of this concept I am guessing there was a lot more to be done here. The narrator does a good job, especially with the female characters. There were times when I forgot it was a male reading. If you're looking for a short story I recommend this. I wish a more Clancy or Weir treatment were given to such an interesting story. It almost seemed like the author was trying to wrap this up as quickly as possible. Could have been one of the great ones with modern science and political intrigue.

Couldn’t finish

I got so tired of all the techno-babble I had to quit. It’d be good if you like that stuff, I don’t.

Amazing near future SciFi

Blew right through this book. With a near future backdrop, it's an engaging and relatively fast paced story of a new space race to the moon fueled by the desire to claim possible alien technology.

Space exploration, political intrigue, international relations, and the looming threat of war will keep you on edge as each nation's Space Agency races to slap together what they can to beat everyone else. Who will get there first, and who will come home?

Excellent start of series

Covers possible scenarios and slightly jingoistic. Good start to a series. Narrator needs to be different.

note to performers

please note the difference between the 'v' in Saturn V (pronounced five for model name) and the 'v' in Delta V ( pronounced V for velocity). you would wish the editor would notice.
