Excellent side story

I do love a well-written series! Mini installments can flesh-out characters or establish background. Audible is very upfront about the length of each book. I noticed almost every reviewer complained about the length or length vs cost. May I suggest Kindle Unlimited - read & listen for free? Audible clearly shows which books you can get a deal on with this program. (This entire series - at the time of this review) can be read & listened to free.

Now - back to the review. I was thoroughly delighted to find Marko Kloos. I listened all the full length Frontline series books and am coming back to his two short books to scrape very bit of the frosting off the plate. His writing is authentic, real, and he knows how to create an epic emotional gripping story without crossing the line into a contest with the graphic gore of a "who can make us cry the most" war novel. I found the premise refreshing as it original, and did not require a glossary, or 3/4 of the book to force the scenario into understandable/believable.

Great story Great narration

This is a short but sweet one. If you like military action and some high flying then this one is for you. Like I said, it's really short but it's also really good! It's a one-shot that needs no background knowledge. Very impressive!

Wish it were longer.

I enjoyed it quite a bit but was expecting something else entirely. I'm relatively new to the series but I think this short story is a window for expansion of more potentially longer chapters that could detail what exactly this young Ace was doing all the time she was on her own. Possibly detailing her rank ascension?

I hope it doesn't end here.

Read it for free . . . . Or maybe 99 cents. . . 😱

A one scene short story . . . . 😱
______________________________________________________
5 stars is great (I rarely give this rating).
4 stars is good (given only to interesting and well-written books).
3 stars is OK (the usual listen I encounter on Audible).
2 stars is poor (and not worth the credit or the listen).
1 star is awful (and to be diss'ed and shunned and spread as thus through out the Audible Universe)!

Should Have Been Free

What disappointed you about Lucky Thirteen?

33 minutes is not a book. It was more like a short, very short, story.

Has Lucky Thirteen turned you off from other books in this genre?

no

What does Nicol Zanzarella bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The reader was good.

Any additional comments?

Book should have been free because it was short to short to sell for 1 credit.

Brisk

Good action and to the point with the narrator on point for her voice. Loved it!

good story, good narration, too expensive

$6 for a 33 minute story is ridiculous! audible needs to adjust the price in this WAY down

saturated and short. I want more.

Definitely gives You an understanding of why Haley is such a bad-ass. I love the description of the dropship tactics and flight I want more

Good but very short

It was a good story but very short and kind of expensive for as short as it was.
