Painfully slow.

Painfully slow. It might be better skimmed as a book. I don’t think I will be reading book 2.

Hard to follow

Partially because the way the author junps around through back flashes, dreams, locations, etc, and partially because the narrator never seems to definitively break between on chunk of prose to the next, it became very difficult for me to figure out who was who, where they were, how they got there, and whether or not it even happened. Good characters and interesting concepts, just really confusing plot.

A good read

There were definitely some things I loved:- the atmosphere, the narrator, the worldbuilding, the interesting main characters. I'm not entirely happy about how things worked out in the end, neither how the story was wrapped up nor how the relationships changed towards the end. A good book, but it won't make my list of favorites.
