Publisher's Summary

Did you ever wonder what happened after King Kong fell to his death off the Empire State Building back in 1933? How did New York City recover from his rampage? What became of Carl Denham, the man who brought the eighth wonder of the world to Manhattan in chains? Kong: King of Skull Island holds the answers to all those questions. This tremendous tale picks up in 1957, when Denham's son, Vincent, decides to investigate the events that culminated in the tragic fall of Kong. His journey will ultimately take him to Skull Island in search of answers. In that frightening lost land, Vincent braves prehistoric perils while piecing together the fate of a mighty civilization, and unlocks the astounding secret of the great wall that kept Kong in check.

This Should Be Cannon

If you are a King Kong fan then you might want to give this a listen. Why, because there are questions that you may have that this book seeks to answer . Did you know for instance that there has been more than one Kong on Skull Island? What is the backstory of the Kong we know and love? What is the story of the people of Skull Island? These and other queries are addressed chief of which is what happened to the man that captured Kong? The story I feel could have been better written and it goes on a bit long for my taste. I feel though many will find it interesting. The Reader is a bit over dramatic and breathless for me. Despite that because of the questions this novel seeks to answer King Kong fans might find it's lure irresistible.

Overly excited narrator

The story keeps in the tradition of the original King Kong--a fantastic adventure that feels like a 1930s pulp. Some implausible plot developments keep the story from ever rising above that, though. Unfortunately, the narration overplays and overdramatizes everything. It is overly melodramatic, read as though the text were punctuated with lots of exclamation points!!!! Rather than impose such an excitable interpretation, I wish the production team had allowed the narrative to carry itself.
