Publisher's summary

He bursts into the battle, his leather jacket billowing and his huge silver sword flashing. Amber has no idea why this windswept warrior would rescue her, but there he is... fighting the same demon who’d killed her sister. Though he is a stranger, she immediately senses he’s come to protect her. And with the first touch of his lips on hers, she knows he is bound to her, his body meant for her. Yet the shadow of evil is spreading quickly, and more death will follow unless they can discover the secrets of…The Calling.

No brain required.

Would you try another book from Jennifer Ashley and/or Rebecca Cook?

Jennifer No. Rebecca yes.

What could Jennifer Ashley have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

plot.. story... anything.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Immortals: The Calling?

I would have cut just about every other page. I'm no prude, but sex without a story line is is just bad porn. I don't think she even tried to create a good work of fiction. The even sadder thing is that there are so many books in the series. What does that say about women in our culture today? Just sad.

Any additional comments?

If it seems like I didn't say much here its because I thought I would stay with the authors theme. Oh.. minus the bad porn.

Immortals did not call to me

Any additional comments?

I found this story rather boring and not engaging at all. I made it half way through before giving up. I will not be finishing the book or purchasing any more in this series. Rather disappointing. :(.

Couldn't help but buy book 2

Would you listen to Immortals: The Calling again? Why?

Yes... great story line.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The dragon shapeshifter.... can't think of his name :)

Have you listened to any of Rebecca Cook’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

She's just great, her male voices are smoky and sound masculine.

Any additional comments?

When you thought the book was over, it kept going. Loved it!

great series

What did you love best about Immortals: The Calling?

this is book #1 which I listened out of order. Listened to Tain, Darius, Hunter, then this one.many series do not need to be listened in order, but this one really does to really enjoy the story, not just the characters. I made a bad mistake by reading due to character outline instead of the book numbers.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Immortals: The Calling?

when our hero is captured and meets his bother

What three words best describe Rebecca Cook’s performance?

good as she makes you believe the men are all individual he men with their own special sexy actions

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No as I had purchased 4 all at once, a bad habit for me

Any additional comments?

Should listen to Tain last or you may lose interest. This series is a chase of sorts.

Didn’t finish

The erotica started almost immediately. I didn’t get beyond chapter 3. I like a little erotica but I don’t like it to be the sum total of the story. There may have been romance, action, and adventure later on but I don’t want to have to trudge through the erotica to get to it.

A Romantic must read!

If you could sum up Immortals: The Calling in three words, what would they be?

Sizzling and Captivating!

What other book might you compare Immortals: The Calling to and why?

I would compare this series to the Dream Guardians by Sylvia Day. Both have hunky immortal guardians and a great story line to boot!

Which character – as performed by Rebecca Cook – was your favorite?

Unsure, she did a great job with the characters.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Sexy, thrilling, action and adventure series!

Any additional comments?

none
