Publisher's summary

Integrity Taylor should have been a Clan princess. Instead she's lived a life on the very periphery of society. However, now that she's learned more about her heritage and the magic that she's capable of wielding, she's not going to hide in the shadows any longer.

The once-in-a-generation Sidhe Games are going to provide the perfect opportunity for her to win back her birthright, and the fact that she'll be going head-to-head, toe-to-toe, and mouth-to-mouth with golden-haired Byron Moncrieffe might just be the icing on the cake.

I might look in on this series again

Honor bound is the second book in the Highland magic series and the first book I've listened to from Helen Harper. For me it started off slow and seemed almost uninteresting. The narration wasn't to my liking at first because the Scottish accent of the main character seemed to clash with the writing/speaking style. Perhaps it was just something I wasn't used to at first because I was surprised when I found myself engrossed in the story by mid book. Looking back I find that the narration was one of the better ones I've heard. There is a lot of romantic drama in this novel. A lot of our main characters thoughts seem to center on her feelings for her love interest. Luckily there was a lot of action and clever interactions between characters snd that may keep my interest in this series alive.

Amazing

This book was great. Good story, in fact it reminded me a bit of Goblet of Fire. Interesting world, and amazing characters.

Pretty please Audible! Make the next one available too! I want to know how the story ends!

Great story.

Excellent writing. Perfect narration. Fast moving paranormal adventure with a softly building romance. More than a satisfying listen.

Side clan games winner to claim valuable prize of their choice.

Integrity wants to win so she can reclaim her clans land. Tipsonia's wish is to claim her boyfriend Candy, if she is the winner. Brandon is supposed to request money to repay his father's debts. Not all goes as planned. Tension, betrayal, humor and shocking end decisions add to the enjoyment of this book.

annoying

What would have made Honour Bound better?

Change the main character. her whole passive aggressive stance was annoying. She basically let everyone walk all over her without doing much. She did not show much backbone and made things harder for herself.

What could Helen Harper have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

The author should've rethought the main female character. The first book wasn't this bad but the second book is horrible.

What about Saskia Maarleveld’s performance did you like?

it was okay.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

disappointment. I wish the female character showed more fire. She was very passive and it made the book hard to listen to. I rolled my eyes so often and long, I thought they would get stuck.

Excellent!!

Throughly enjoyed this book as I did the first in the series. A nice quick easy listen. Most likely aimed at young adults, a short listen of only 8 hours made a nice break to the 20+ hour epic fantasy books I usually buy mainly as I see the shirt books as not value for money/too short to get me through the month. Have broken this rule and bought the next two in the series, if I don't make it through the month and need to buy extra credits so what these books are worth it thanks Helen Harper

Refreshing read.

I really like reading about Integrity Adare. She is an interesting character and it is always fun to see what she will do next. I wish her clans hidden past would come forth quicker but you can't have everything at once. The buildup is good.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE BOOKS

What made the experience of listening to Honour Bound the most enjoyable?

It keeps you hooked and wanting for more. I usually listen to audible on my way to/from work while stuck in traffic. Listening to all 3 books of this series, i found myself parked and not wanting to get our of the car, because i didnt want to stop listening. Love it. Can't wait till the 4th book comes out.

What other book might you compare Honour Bound to and why?

All 3 books were amazing. I was hooked and didnt want to stop listening. Storyline is amazing, characters are brilliant.

Have you listened to any of Saskia Maarleveld’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I LOVE SASKIA. Hands down, my favorite narrator of all time! She is simply amazing. I wish more books were narrated by her.

Good story with a great narrator

Good story with a great narrator. I couldn't help liking the story. This is the second one I've bought. The plot is a good one. gets a little weak in the middle, but a good one nonetheless. I love the narrator voice. Different from what I'm used to, but smooth on the ear.
