Thought it would be boring

Any additional comments?

It took me a long time to pick up the first book in this series and read it. The premise always seemed boring to me, but it is not. Jacka has created a really fun urban fantasy series. The series follows a diviner and his apprentice through various adventures. The protagonist is a moderate talent of one very specialized skill, and his intelligence keeps him alive. This is a book in which the reader is not just told the protagonist is intelligence and expected to accept it as a truly predictable story unfolds. The protagonist does demonstrate intelligence through his creativity. Give this series a try. You will enjoy it.

Another Excellent Alex Verus Novel

This is the 5th book in the Alex Verus series and fans will not be dissappointed. The book is fast paced and fun. The character development is good and you gain a lot of insight on several of the characters in the story. The author also does a good job of advancing the meta-story while simulatneously producing a story that would stand up on his own. This is definitely not a transitition book. Where many of my other favorite series are starting to lose steam the Alex Verus series containues to move on at full speed. Mr. Jacka is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors and this novel is excellent proof why that is the case.
