Publisher's Summary

Petra Godfellow is ready - a little nervous, but ready - to grow up and leave home.
She doesn't know the family secret - about the man who once loved her mother, who refused to accept that it was over between them...
Who's crazy enough to believe that he's the king of Faerie.
As Petra begins her first semester at Lightfoot College, she'll be forced to navigate her own doubts when people she respects reveal their beliefs in the absurd and impossible. She'll be stalked by the supernatural, asked to bargain with unfriendly powers for the fate of another world.
And it's not just her future that's in danger. It's her mother, her aunt, her best friend, and thousands of refugees from a centuries-old civil war in Faerie who are tired of staying in hiding.

What did you love best about Her Unwelcome Inheritance?

I love a good fantasy book and the world-building was very good. Also like how not everything is explained all at once so it makes you want to find out more. There are many intriguing characters that I look forward to seeing again in the next installment.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Her Unwelcome Inheritance?

A moment that stuck out to me is one where Petra asks which side was "right" in the war and she is told that no one ever fights a war thinking that they are wrong. Everyone thinks that their cause is the right one. Then when she insists, "but looking back now, who was right?" Wooton explains that whoever writes the history always shows their own side to be the right one so it seems it is always the winning side that appears to be "right"

What about Summer Jasmine Brown’s performance did you like?

It was an engaging performance and she did her best to give each character a distinct voice, however I found some of the accents uneven or inconsistent and thereby distracting. I may have to read the next book instead of using the audio version to see how that affects my enjoyment of the story. But then again, I already got acquainted with the story and characters as read by Summer so I might still do the audiobook because of familiarity
