Publisher's summary

Hannah Bell, the oldest of the three Bell sisters, spends most of her time in the remotest parts of the world photographing endangered animals. She is also gifted with an extraordinary sixth sense, which has saved her life on more than one occasion. When she senses something has happened to her littlest sister, Tink, she will do whatever it takes to protect her. What she doesn't know is her sister's best friend's new science experiment has opened a portal to another world - a world she is about to be taken to whether she wants to go or not.

Borj 'Tag Krell Manok is the calmest of his four brothers, or so he always thought. The second oldest, he has been assigned the task by his father and the council to bring the sister of his brother's bond mate to their world. Borj knows deep down that Hannah is destined to be his bond mate - something he has hoped for since his first mating-rite ceremony. What he doesn't expect when he meets her is her resistance - or her independence.

When she is kidnapped by a rival clan, Borj will do anything to get her back. Hannah and Borj's escape into the vast forests of Prime draw them together in a fight not only for their lives but for a deeper understanding and trust between two vastly different worlds. Borj discovers Hannah is a fierce and cunning mate while Hannah discovers Borj is the perfect warrior to protect and love her.

This is the second book in this particular series, and I have a feeling that I am going to be breezing my way through every single book in the next day or two. I wonder how many books there are anyway? (I just looked...there are 7) Anyway, on an even better note, Audible was having this crazy sale the other week and they had books on sale for crazy prices...I think that books in this series were like $2.00 or something crazy like that...I mean, seriously? How can you not just go crazy?

A little back history, I found this author a couple of years ago and TOTALLY fell in love with her "Dragon Lords of Valdier" series so for $2.00, I was being pro-active and getting the whole series because....duh! Oh, and on another note, Dragon Lords in space might sound a bit out there, but to this day, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that series....but I digress....

Okay, back to this series. So far, we have been introduced to Cosmos and Tink, who have been best friends as well as family friends forever. He is a brilliant billionaire who is constantly inventing things and Tink is an extremely smart woman with many skills. She is a mechanic, has great self defense skills, can problem solve...(but that was book 1) This book introduces us to her older sister Hannah - so we need to talk about Hannah. In book 1, we discovered the situation that has occurred with Cosmos' latest invention - a portal to a previous unknown galaxy - and the fact that now, there just might be a solution to the problem on that world of a shortage of women.

Let me just be honest and admit that what makes S.E. Smith such a fantastic writer is that no matter what the story arc or plot is with her books, there is always absolutely amazing character development. We always get to meet and end up falling in love with the crazy characters that she introduces us to. In this case, it is the big bad warriors from another galaxy, and then the crazy Bell family...consisting of Tink, Hannah, Tansy and of course...mom and Dad Bell.

So, hold on to your hats and just know that this is going to be a fun ride. The men from this new planet aren't going to know what hit them when they meet the independent and shocking women from Earth. Oh, and the plots from these books are also full of action, drama and a couple of interesting twists.

Gotta go - 2 down, 5 more to go.....

OMG!

OMG! I love to read/listen to S.E. Smith stories. This is the second book in the Cosmos' Gateway series. This Hannah and Borj's story. It's filled with fast-paced action, good vs bad element, lots of sex scenes & hot Alien Warriors. Hannah is Tink's oldest sister, who is a wildlife photographer. Borj is everything that Hannah needs right now from fierce and protective and patient. Filled with suspense, drama, action, sexy hot yummy scenes and tons of laughter. Hannah and Borj are two strong, passionate characters that mesh well from the beginning. Love this series never can put them down until the end. Hope that it never never ends. I feel that you WILL need to read/listen to them in order. Can't wait to read the next book in this series. I felt like Suzanne Elise Freeman did an amazing job with bringing the each characters in to life. Keep up the amazing job!

Another ride in the unknown and more adventure

S.E. Smith has done it again for me. I love the work of Cosom's Gateway. The Gateway opened by pure accident has lead to many a new adventures for a family of women and their friends. This time around was Hannah's turn. She finds that she had a dream that could only be brought to life by a man out of this world. Dreams do come true. She strong, determined and have been through much. Borj would do anything to meet the lady from the picture. He just never imagined that she would knock him out on multiple occasions. The whole bonding thing without consent was not the fave of mine but it was a part of the culture and customs of the world that has in-directly become involved with Earth. Join the ups, downs, and adventures of Borj and Hannah. Her parents are just wonderful. The take down of these strong men are fun and entertaining. Just because Earth women are small they are powerful.

Narrator Suzanne Elise Freeman has grown on me with her distinctive voices for the various characters that we meed in this installment. The consistency of tone, pitch, and voices for each person.

Strong Female Lead (just like in book 1)

Book two was just as amazing as the first. Once again, a woman that takes no prisoners when it comes to her safety! We also revisit Tink and her progress. Its pretty cool to see the progression without it being repetitive. I’ve read series where I felt like they were retelling the first book again – that’s not the case here.

GREAT SERIES

I have read the book awhile back and have listened to the audio z several times. Wonderful, amazing, heart stopping, and steamy romance, all wrapped into one amazing series. Which I hope you have not given up on. Derrick needs his book too.Love these Prime warriors, as much as the Dragon warriors. Please keep this series going. Highly recommend this story. The narrator has done a great job on the different characters. She brought life to this book just as much as Ms. Smith brought life to her story.

GOOD SCI-FI ROMANCE + STEAM, DRAMA, ACTION & HOOTS

When I'm in the mood for a sextraterrestrial listen I turn to S.E. Smith because over and over again she has captured my imagination with her various loveable Alpha Aliens. And, especially in this series, she fills the listen with interesting characters for you to care about so, when you finish the book, you can't wait until the next one comes out so you can, once again, dip into this alternate Universe.... where women are worshiped by gorgeous Prime Warriors.

This book continues where Tink and J'kar's story left off and now Tink wants her Mom close by so J'kar's brother Borj is only too happy to take on the mission and bring Tink's Mom to her.... but he also has a mission of his own. Since seeing a picture of Tink and her two Sisters he has been obsessed with one of them - Hannah and he's sure she's his bonded mate. But unfortunately he doesn't quite pick the best time to get acquainted.... and he's not prepared for the painful welcome he gets when he creeps in on the feisty Hannah unannounced and in the middle of the night. Hannah had a very traumatic experience in her teens and now prefers a fairly solitary existence photographing wildlife in dangerous and deadly environments. And, after her trauma, she's made sure she can look after herself by taking self defence lessons which happily come in very handy when a huge intruder thinks he can calmly break into Cosmos's home.

This results in some fun chapters and, although Borj doesn't get the welcome he was expecting,..... he does get the positive answer he was hoping for - the beautiful Hannah is his mate - but unfortunately she'll need a lot of convincing on that issue. Thankfully Borj gets help from an unlikely source..... her loving parents who are fun, sexually very open minded and are all too willing for this tender but strong and protective Prime Warrior to claim their daughter. They're also very keen to go and visit Tink on Baade which makes for witty banter, sly sexual innuendos and some fun visualizations because these two become well loved sexual Gurus to any Prime citizen with questions.

Hannah and Borj's romance flows along imperfectly perfect with touching tender scenes as well as passionate steamy scenes too. There's drama and angst because, despite Borj's heartfelt promises to protect his Hannah, she is kidnapped not once but twice.... once by good men with good intentions and once by very very bad men with nothing but bad intentions - which make for some tension filled scenes . Dual, and occasionally multiple, POV's and this fantastic fantasy world, along with it's many inhabitants, are all wonderfully brought to life by a very good narrator. And it leaves you eagerly anticipating your next visit with them.

Worth a credit? This listen was very enjoyable, was really entertaining, was a hoot, was much more than I'd hoped for and, in my little world, was, and is, definitely creditworthy. IMO, this would best be listened to after book 1 which has the initial introductions to all the characters, explains the Gateway, tells the backstory to their race, outlines their dilemmas and shows what a super-caring race these Prime Aliens are.

The second book did not disappoint!

Any additional comments?

Story was well written and I loved that it incorporated many of the characters from the previous book. Preferred this narrator to past narrators of SE Smith's books.
