Not the next comming!
What disappointed you about Half-Bloods Rising?
There are many things that are disappointing about this book, but the biggest is that it is compared to RA Salvatore's Drizzt Do'Urden epic. As a fan of Drizzt for more than 25 years I was intrigued to explore a new author who reportedly would be loved by Drizzt fans. The marketing of this book portrays it as the next coming of a great epic hero. This book is not even in the same literary category and I feel duped.
The writing is poor, repeating simple phrases and adjectives in the same sentence structure continually. The story line makes no sense, the main characters are just wandering aimlessly. Encounters with non-main characters lend nothing but "page" filler to the story. In over 20 years of listening to audio books there are very few that I have not been able to at least finish, even if never to return for another book from that author or narrator. Unfortunately this "book" is now on that list of books that I just had to quit on.
What didn’t you like about Mikael Naramore’s performance?
The range of character voices attempted was stretched too far. It was not decipherable who was talking - and the writing left large conversations unable to follow.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

great for a younger audience
story was okay but very much a simple affair. would be great for a Y.A. audience. Biggest draw back for me was that the characters are not very relatable, and I felt the characters lacked much in emotion and personality.
