Surprised By The New/Old Enemies

Grey Team need their own game or movie. Would love to see more done with these characters. My only complaint for this book would be that the story is a bit predictable. I pretty much knew the ending mid book. Still a great book regardless, especially for long time Halo Fans .......................................... .......................................................................................................................(Possible spoiler ahead)................................................................................................................................................................One of the enemies in this story will be recognizable to anyone who snooped around the files in Halo 1. Google the enemy name to see the original concept art. I only mentioned this because it was a pleasant surprise to see old ideas for the original game getting recycled for new stories.

Best book in the series!!! Feels like you’re playing a Game

Next to the Fall of Reach this is arguably the best book in the series. It’s full of familiar characters that we’ve grown to love , the character arcs of the new characters as well is brilliant , and the emergence of the new villains is good.

As far as action is concerned this book from page one to the last page its literally full of space battles, ground battles , ship battles and hand to hand combat as this book feels almost like a written version of an Actual Halo game.


I rank the Kilo 5 Karen Traviss novels as the worst in the series , and I rank Eric Nylands Fall of Reach as close to the best. Tobias is a gifted writer and Envoy is arguably the best in the series.

Outsading story writing and impressive narration.

The storyline is outstanding among all The Halo novels which was impressively narrated. This novel is one of those that could be turned into a game such as Reach or ODST that game alongside Halo 3. I Look forward to similar stories on The future. The conflicts in The Halo universe are almost endless!

Envoy

Not a bad story, Scott Brick is at his usual impeccable self. Although, I would've liked the narrator from the Kilo 5 series better. Jo offense to Mr. B of course.

Halo at its Best

This captures nearly everything I love about the Halo novels. The characters and worlds it builds are rich and the emotional responses of those characters don't feel contrived or unnatural. The action segments are truly riveting, kept me on the edge of my seat and there are so many wonderful twists and turns that, even though I went into this thinking I know what it would be about, I ended up being pleasantly surprised right up to the very last sentence.

Really good story

this was a very good story. I was always interested in what happened to grey team after Cole protocol. the characters were very well developed and it seems to build off hunters in the dark. I hope to see the new characters in future stories as well. Kinda wish the brute leader survived though. Can't recommend this more.

Favorite book since “the flood”

I loved the unique story told here. Completely new storyline as compared to the games. Very interesting and novel storyline. Very formidable antagonist. The enemy descriptions were truly terrifying, something I hadn’t felt since “the flood.” I loved that the main character was not a Spartan, but the envoy and the governor. I loved how there was a rich storyline and culture portrayal of the elites.

I'm sick of Scott Brick

Ya, sure he has a soothing monotone voice but every single character sounds exactly the same, from male to female, human or alien. For someone like me who has trouble with names it's hard to keep track who is who.

Sometimes it's hard to understand if it's a character speaking or a narration. Maybe I'm sick of him because he has done all of the recent halo books too.

Please find someone else for the next Halo book. Euan Morton did a GREAT job with the Kilo-5 trillogy, or maybe even R. C. Bray.

Or at least find a female voice actor when most of the lead characters are female.

One one of the best Halo books I've ever read. I'm getting it on paperback.
